QFF Points Transfer Vs Handing Account over Temporarily for Buying Party to Book Flights

Hi there,

Does anyone have any experience in handing over QFF account details for a buying party to book flights? Obviously this will negate the risk of account suspension (for selling points) however with it comes a number of security risks.

The reason I ask is because I am getting interest for this type of transaction.

Cheers.

Doesn’t handing the account to the other party allow them to even change your email address? I don’t know if it sends the email to original email for confirmation or not. If so, you are looking at long process to recover your account with us proof and so on.

  • Yeah I suspected that may be the case. Thanks for your reply.

You can just book for them using your account once they give you the flight and their personal details. Safer that way.

  • I’ve handed my account over twice and had no issues both times.

    YMMV

    • May I ask what the process was? Do they have access to personal details/are they able to change passwords or your attached email?

Qantas has 2FA now so any changes to personal details require an SMS code for 2FA

Regardless, the first time I was paid the cash before handing my details over. The second time I used the same buyer and he paid cash same day as the transaction. So there’s some trust established.

For the record I’ve sold approx 900k points for $9k. So neg away folks lol

There’s other logistical details I’m happy to share in PM not in here for obvious reasons.

  • Surely you wouldn't give your account over to someone you don't trust?

How does this negate the risk of suspension?

    • Yeah, I won't be doing so but I understand others have done this in the past so was wondering how it worked for them.

I assume the risk of suspension stems from transferring points to non family members, therefore by booking flights directly from your account for the buying party this risk would be nullified.

      • Ah, that makes sense.
Can you just book the flights for them? Domestic flights don't need ID
