Just sent this link to the mother in law. Refreshed the page to see your comment. FML.

          • @goingDHfast: Hihihihihihihi….hohohohohoho…hahahahahahaha….LOL

  • The warm for these is just too warm. 2700K is gettin yellowy orange. I should of got a refund last time. Might use in lamps or something. 3000K or a little over would be perfect, like some Osram and Virbatim or more expensive ones in Philips range.

    • The Osram 3000k are perfect. Not too yellowy orange like the Mirabella equivalent

  • I bought a pack of cool daylight (6500K) and it seems a little too 'cool' compared to the cool white CFL it has replaced. However, for 1400lm it is very bright, I'd say probably brighter than the 23W CFL I replaced. Overall I've been pretty happy with the Philips bulbs I've bought from this range, for this price.

    • Are these bulbs dimmable?

      • No

        • What would happen if I use this bulb with a dimmer switch (currently being used with a fluorescent light)? What is the best option for me in order to replace that flourescent light?
          Thanks.

@Averell: You can just leave the dimmer on max… the lights won’t work properly if you dim them down.

          • @Averell: Have you ever tried to divide by 0?

            • @Gorian4: Sorry I don't understand. What's the relationship between this and DIV0?

              • +1

@Averell: They both don't work, and in the rare occurrence may open up a black hole XD

  • Thanks OP

  • Do the 12w tornado ones ever come on sale? I've looked at Bunnings and Woolies but they're always $6+ for a single bulb. Seems steep. The things I forgot to factor in when house-hunting…

    • Why CFL?

    • You can’t switch to these Philips LED?

      • The tornado ones seem to be the only ones that fit…I've tried the ones shaped as in this post, but the fixture I pop off to replace the bulb won't fit over it.

They make a smaller bulb that looks the same as pictured yet they only go up to 450-470 lumen. I can't remember the brand atm

Real luminary, OP! Haven't seen this price for 470 Lumen and 806 Lumen packs for quite some time.

I've been using LED lighting for the last 10 years and reckon Philips make the best out there - with Osram a close second.

These are excellent prices - especially for the 1400lm. I paid $15 for one at Bunnings recently.

    • 10 years; why change? They should have lasted longer than that.

      • The technology has gotten much better in that time - much more light output per watt. Much more efficient.

Not all LEDs will last 10 years. Some lamps will fail prematurely and the older tech was not always the best and there's a learning curve. There's over 140 light fittings in my house too.

  • Thanks OP, I ordered a bunch. Interestingly, from the last batch I bought, I've had one fail already, and another is starting to flicker. I would have thought they would last longer.

  • Cheers OP, grabbed 4 packs for click and collect!
