[Switch] Resident Evil Revelations 2 $12.38 @ Nintendo eShop

180

Lowest price ever according to Dekudeals, this is the only re game I grabbed though other resident evil games are also on sale.

The beginning of the Resident Evil Revelations 2 tale sees fan favorite Claire Redfield make a dramatic return. Survivor of the Raccoon City incident depicted in previous Resident Evil games, Claire now works for the anti-bioterrorism organization Terra Save. Moira Burton, is attending her welcome party for Terra Save when unknown armed forces storm the office. Claire and Moira are knocked unconscious and awaken later to find themselves in a dark and abandoned detention facility. Working together, they must find out who took them and to what sinister end. Will Claire and Moira make it out alive and discover what’s led to them being taken to this remote island? A story of twists and turns will have players guessing the next step at every turn.

Enhance your gameplay experience even further with additional motion controls that let you aim and wield your weapons with greater accuracy on the Nintendo Switch.

  • Be aware this game has an unnecessarily large file size of around 26gb.

    • Why's it unnecessary?

I'm not sure. For reference, the PC version is 23gb. Perhaps they could have shrunk some of the art assets down given the switch will never display them at greater than 1080p?

        • Exactly this.

Thanks for the answers, Ninternet and mingofmongo.

Unnecessary because Capcom have poorly optimised all of their releases for Switch and made no efforts to patch any of them (this one included) since launch. Most other third party titles on Switch have a smaller file size on the system in comparison to the other platforms due to the use of better compression to fit the system.

This game, albeit fun and playable, also has a terribly inconsistent uncapped frame rate which sees the game constantly fluctuating between 30 and 60fps with no option for a 30fps cap to maintain consistent fluidity. This sort of stuff is acceptable from a small indie studio with limited funds and whatever, but this is Capcom. They've been taking Switch owners for a ride this whole generation with their large file sizes, download exclusives and "codes in a box" so you don't have a physical option most of the time to save on space.

  • Thanks OP This is a no brainer for me but who is a switch new starter. This will go fine with my Mario kart, qubic free games :)

    • Make sure you have a microSD card or it won't fit on your system with those other titles

      • Yes…fortunately for me I got the shopping square 200GB micro sd card from a previous ozbargain deal for $29. Love this community so much :)

  • The online multiplayer in this is insanely fun and infinitely replayable. I've spent like a hundred hours on that alone and haven't even touched the singleplayer.
