I ended up ordering the desk fan version as the results seemed comparable.
I'm really loving the Dyson app that shows my air quality in real time. Was 400 in my house, and dropped (after a couple of hours) to about 15.
how long does it take to get back up to 400 if you switch off the Dyson?
@Charity: Fortunately it hasn't gone back that high. It went back up to 100 the other day when the dust rolled back in to town. The auto kicked in and went back to max. Our place is pretty porous though, so nothing really stops it in the living room.
The app display and monitor is one of the reasons I got this version. It's good to know what the values are in the room. Last night it was 1 :)
Looks good. The desk fan covers 35sqm which is a decent room sized area
It's fine…if you don't have a porous wooden house like I do :/ Come 6pm yesterday, the room went right back up to 100AQI and the Dyson shot back up to full speed

Just want to give people a heads up, when it comes to warranty issues, Dyson is giving me the runaround. Currently dealing with their support and it’s like pulling teeth. Regretting spending so much on their products.

The tower size fan is also $100 off at Dyson and other retailers for $699. I'm not sure how effective the desk size fan is an air filter.
