$1 Cheeseburgers

From what I heard on the radio, Macca's is having $1 Cheeseburgers between 12pm and 1pm.

"Limited Time Only"

There's nothing on the website though, so can anyone confirm this?

      I <3 Shaker fries!

    • what are shaker fries????

      • apparently some sachet of 'cheese' flavouring powder you add to your chips

        From FB

shaker fries are chips… which you then empty into your bag… then tip seasoning into and then shake around and the seasoning sticks to the chips and it tastes AMAZING. i am about to go buy some now…

      • A disgusting waste of chips basically.

Strong powdered tangy cheese dust which tastes like it's gone off is basically what it is.

  • +4

The fries are better at Maccas but the burgers are much better at HJ's…

  • in the area i work in they have 2 cheeseburgers for the price of 1

i dare anyone to eat more than 2 in a sitting

i know you can do it but half way thru the 2nd burger you're sick of it

    • negative.

aus needs to bring in the svardtons (I forget what it is so I just wrote crap) that they have in Sweden, it's just a large big mac meal with a sundae and cheeseburger for like $6.

    • Challenge accepted.. I've had 4 Mcdoubles in one sitting….felt sick after =]

My mate could finish one dinner box. Nothing left except for a Coke (he took it home). And we are East Asian.

        • Pffft, you guys are pansies.

Between me and my uni mates (those were the days) the following mikky D records stand:
          * 12 cheesburgers in one sitting, no drink allowed.
          * 11 hamburgers in one sitting, no drink allowed.
          * 5 large thickshakes in under 1 hour, you have to order them fresh one by one. I actually cheated on this one, because I chose to do the ordering, so I made sure everyone else's were made extra thick.

        • Anyone tried 2 double pounds in one sitting.(should say that i didn't finish the 2nd)

          Yep, it hurts

          2 cheeseburgers seems easy

        • +1

Hey issh my friend had a double pound but with 2 extra patties, he visibly had difficulty breathing for like 5mins.
Different friend of mine had 9 Mcdoubles, large friends and 2 large drinks to himself and we're high school students.

        • haha yeah

my friends had a fastfood feast this arvo(maccas and pizza) cos they have the 40hour famine (no food)

          haha yeah high school!

        • +2

Ok then for pizza hut, the record is 14 slices, no drink. I only did 13 myself, and couldn't move for like half an hour afterwards for fear of chundering. 12 cheeseburgers is a walk in the park by comparison.

      I ate 5. wtf 2 is nothing.

  • Saw the ad on tv, its only on for 40 days, not sure when it started, but its to celebrate 40yrs of maccas

  • Ok time to practice my best lolcat accent. :)

  • +6

Can someone confirm this national? Id hate to ask for a $1 cheeseburger, then get told no, like if Im some hobo :S

    • +2

I believe the ad is national. Definitely works in SA. It says in small writing on the ad max 4 per transaction. So yes you could go up more than once to buy more. 12.00pm - 1.00pm. I believe the ad said the 40 days started August 17 but I could be wrong. In Ozbargain style we had ours in the car and brought our own 40 cent cans of coke. So it was a very cheap lunch.

      • We are proud of ya! :-)

    • Yup definitely works in SA. They'll have the ad on their scrolly menu list. Quite a long line at Myer Centre today.

  • do they have purchase limits?

can you buy 10 each and do an eating contest??

    • do they have purchase limits?

      according to whirlpool

It says 4 per order. Which means that you can line up again and get another 4 and keep doing it for as long as you can stand to wait

so essentially you can get 4 per order and just keep on lining up till you get enough burgers

  • Saw this at the drive thru today - $1 Cheeseburgers daily from 12pm-1pm limit 4 in addition to the normal value lunchtime meals offered between 12pm-2pm.

Looks like Maccas wants back some market share :)

  • Went there today and got one. There was a massive queue and the crew were working furiously…

There was a tv ad for this as well.

  • they shouldn't have got rid of shaker fries! awesome gonna check it out on the weekend

  • They pulled a bait and switch on me, I ordered 4 Cheeseburgers, however, they charges me $6.40, when I asked why, they said that it was only 1 per person, and since there was 2 people, the 1 dollar deal could only be for 2 cheeseburgers, even though it says in clear daylight 4 per transaction. I didn't have time to complain because there was heaps of people at the queue, so I just paid and left.

    • Dude, ask for their manager.

      • -1

        thats ridiculous

you get paid the same amount as a 'hamburger technician' so why bother being difficult?

        • -1

What do you mean by that?
What's my pay got to do with a "hamburger technician" and "being difficult"?
I just want my f**kin $1 hamburgers, that's all, that's not being difficult, it's called "ensuring I'm getting my product for the right price".

        ^this

        From Whirlpool—> http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1702381&p…

Just had shaker fries and a couple of cheeseburgers for lunch, the girl at the counter tried to say it was one per person but before I could tell her she was wrong the manager pulled her aside and gave her a stern "actually it's 4 per order, make sure you actually know what you're talking about when you say something". I was quite pleased (the manager is right, the menu board clearly states "max 4 per transaction").

    • +3

I didn't have time to complain because there was heaps of people at the queue, so I just paid and left.

The fact that there were "heaps of people in the queue" means that it is the PERFECT opportunity to make a scene. Why do you care how fast they get served? You just got scammed, and you sucked it up!

BTW - this $1 deal was on Cable TV (BIO channel I think) last night. We are in Sydney, but I dunno if Foxtel has regional differences?

  • someone just posted $1 cheeseburgers again and it was taken off with "Banned business"

    what happened there?

    • +1

Sorry. Uncle Ronald wasn't too pleased about his business name being mentioned on OzBargain as it's trademarked. We could only ban the domain but the posted deal wasn't on that .com.au so it slipped through…

      • Can uncle ronald actually stop you mentioning his business name?

I am not so sure he can…

        • +3

I demand to speak to Ronald.

I actually said that once when I called head office to complain. Back in the olden days they used to give out car window stickers that gave you a free coke at drive through. Then they changed them to have a year printed on them, so they were only valid in that year.

Fair enough, but they also tried to make the "un-yeared" ones void at the same time. Which was BS. I clung on to that window sticker for years, transferring it from car to car. Until eventually it was so faded/cracked you couldn't read the T&C's dammit.

I even remember my (old skool) windscreen totally shattered on the motoray from a stray rock. My first thought was, fuuuuuuuuu my poor sticker, didn't matter that I couldn't actually see @100kph.

        • When the VP of that company in Australia wrote to me saying

Your website is currently displaying [Business Name]'s registered trademarks without permission… as soon as possible to avoid any
          further action being commenced.

Well that's 2 years ago. Who knows what their current stand is. Food is better elsewhere anyway :)

  • Can confirm that neither shop in Westfield Marion, SA is doing this deal.

  • I got all excited and read the first handful of comments, before realizing someone randomly bumped up a year-old thread.

  • ^ QLD Stores are doing the deal at the moment
