Triban 100 Adult Flat Bar Road Bike - $199 + Shipping (Calculated at Checkout) @ Decathlon

120

Good afternoon OzBargainers,

First deal post, so go easy on me.
Saw this deal posted a few months ago in the comments section of another deal. Bike seems to have good reviews and is ideal for beginners like myself. I have had shipping to Canberra calculated to be $64.88. The free shipping over $80 policy does not apply as it is a 'bulky item'.

Showed free when I tried it…

    • Once you get further into the checkout process and enter delivery details it SHOULD update the pricing accordingly. Mine also showed as $64.88 for ACT region.

      • My screen shot was after I added the address.

Was this price about a month ago. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/504946

It is very often at that price, close to be a ‘normal price’.
The quality itself is quite poor.

      You got one?

      • +1

Yes, Bought it 5 months ago.

  • First review is someone whinging about not getting the reflectors that sit in the spokes………

    • Aren't they a safety feature?

      • Yes. But would many people notice if they weren't there? or is that the only complaint about the bike…..cos that's a good bike then. :)

        • +1

cos that's a good bike then.

          Agree. Pedals are included too…

  • There is the 'drop bar' version of the bike at the same price here: https://decathlon.com.au/products/triban-100-road-bike-15207…

I bought one last week and really like it. It's perfect for casual riding with your kids etc. First service included for free, no idea what that is really worth.

  • With one chainring at the front the range of gears will be limited. I use all the gears on 3x7 gear bikes.

    • +1

Get fitter. Haven't shifted my front gear in 5 years.

        Me neither.
        Nor my rear gear.
My bike has just sat there in the shed.

      • +1

Well you need the front low gear for steep hill and high gear for higher speed. You don't need all 21 gears but they are good to have.

        • Really depends on how they have set up the gearing. For its intended use a 1x7 should be fine.

Probably better to get a shimano 1x7 than an unbranded 3x7 that is never changes right.

All those boys riding Le Tour have got some work to do then… I notice they've got a couple of sprockets up front

        • +1

          They need to get fit.

Not sure if these can still be found but they are/were a great deal when i got one. (had to call them to buy as i couldn't select size online, might all be gone now)
