  • 60,170, putting me in the top 4% of WA.

Though I'd imagine there's a bunch of throwaway accounts throwing the figures off

  • Haven't received mine yet but hopefully they don't exclude supplementary cards like they did last year …

    • -1

      Just received the annual email

that the first year i got in the POSTBOX, wtf more paper waste i never signed up for

  • Slower year this time round. 84,078 points.

  • 4,693 and it says I scanned my card 30 times which I don't believe it's that low unless it excludes my wife's card who I make pay for most of our shopping.

edit - it says I bought 8 loaves of bread and 4 bottles of milk, we'd go through that in a month so it must not include my wife's card.

    • -7

      onetwothreefourfivesixseveneight loaves and onetwothreefour milks.
Interested to know how do you make your wife pay ? Gun to the head ? Withold sex ? Forgot my wallet again ?

      • Interested to know how do you make your wife pay

I don't really, she's a stay at home mum so does most of the shopping when I'm at work.

  • 45,946

  • Just shy of 224,000, with just over 50% coming from bonus points. I’m being punished now for it though, I’ve had zero new offers for bonus points for about 2 months, just the generic campaigns (Optus, flybuys travel etc.).

    • Same here, none since start of December. Except liquorland and first choice.

    • How did u accumulate that much?
I get bonus offers but mainly small things like 2000 points when you spend $120 at Coles, impossible for me to get 200K like this

      • Having a Coles Mastercard and funneling most purchases through that brought regular points. Most bonus points came from those “spend x get 10000 points” instore at Coles. Also I did take the Optus offer which suited my situation at the time (which gave a healthy bonus too).

  • Haven't received mine yet either
But what you buying to get 157636 standard points ? because the bonus points dont look good against that

    • Could be from credit cards

      • Damn Citibank
2 rejections this year (but the recent 100,000 + 50,000 points offer was too good to not try even with Cities strange criteria

      • Yup that's where I get mine from. My bonus rate is tiny because I literally haven't been given a new offer in 3 weeks.

    • Yeah, just under 125k from Coles Master Card. It's double points. I don't go out of my way to fulfil the bonus requirements. I use it enough to cover the annual fee on the MC. Most of my Coles shopping is with 5% discounted e-giftcards which is a better discount than using the MC. But all other purchaces are pretty much on the MC.

  • My "regulars" were pretty standard:

    Bread, milk, bananas and……… salami!

2,689,500 points Coles Mastercard + Car Insurance. 119,656 BONUS POINTS. A Solid year.

(Most of the points come from the mastercard spend though)

    • +1

      WTF

    • +2

Did you buy a house with your credit card?

      • +4

Business spend, I honestly don't know how they haven't kicked me off it yet. I also had 2 months of 5 points per $ bonus offers as well on the MC. Which gave me around 700k points.

        • +2

What I love about the Mastercard is that if you use Coles Express fuel they'll punish you by doing 1 point per $2, but if you go anywhere else you'll get rewarded with 2 points per $1.

          • @Clear: I did not know that! We use flybuys points for fuel on personal car. Business car I go to Apco, 10c a litre cheaper so outweighs the earn rate. (At least locally anyway) I was going to do the business car at BP to get the velocity points, but again 10c a litre dearer

    • Do you convert over to Velocity?

      • Nope, I redeem for flybuys $$ did redeem some through flybuys travel though. Business earns around 1.3million amex pts as well, so eventually I'll transfer them to velocity or Qantas. I don't really understand how to book the flights etc. To get the most value yet.

        • What business are you in, if I may ask?

          • @Craze: 💰 Laundry ;)

          • @Craze: Retail, also just realised that wasn't all of it, the bonus stuff went to the wife's account instead of mine!

        • Nope, I redeem for flybuys $$

Do you order things for free on the FlyBuys Online shop or do you get like Coles Giftcards with them?

          • @frostman: I just use them as the flybuys dollars mostly. So Kmart/Target/Coles/Coles express. I did have more than I could spend earlier in the year so I booked some flights through flybuys travel as the cost was similar to the airline price

            • @Soluble: wait, 2.6M points = ~ $13,000
Impossible Coles/Flybuys allows you to confirm them to this much money??

              • @frostman: It's a no cap point earn credit card. If that gets changed then I'd switch all my spend to Amex

    • You are the 1%

  • +1

This year was probably lower than previous years because Woolworths came good last year for our household with many different incentives.

    • I was brought up on Woolies, but wife preferred Coles. Lately she is finding Woolies better these days in terms of service, store layout, price, quality/freshness etc (only compared to Coles though). Considering switching to the Woolies credit card…but I swear we hardly get any benefits from the Woolies reward card vs flybuys…

      • we hardly get any benefits from the Woolies reward card vs flybuys

That's how it's been for a few years now. But the last couple of months have been great and Scan&Go trial overlapping reward incentives were a bonus, and overlapping rewards helped.

On average we buy more fresh produce from Woolworths (Coles it's usually a lot of a one-off special such as cheap broccoli).

    • What is "Flybuys Plus" ?

I googled but didnt see much..

      • It’s still in beta I believe and not being offered to anyone yet.

Basically 10x points on fuel at shell and fresh food at Coles.
Discount store (theme park passes etc)
        Free muvi rental every month
        And some other features.

$10 per month so only worth it if you make more than 2000 points per month to offset the cost.

The thread is about how many points you earnt last year, not how many points you currently have.

Still waiting for my e-mail; I think they took me off the mailing list after I complained that 2018 data wasn't given to supplementary cardholders unlike 2017, so complained that I didn't get my primary cardholder e-mail …

      • Still waiting, but flybuys said i) supplementary cardmembers get the data this time and ii) if it doesn’t arrive by Wednesday, to let them know so they can follow up

        • My wife got a different email summary than I did - I believe she is a supplemental cardholder as she can redeem my points for $10 off.

          • @systmworks: I get the e-mails for both supplementary and primary in the one e-mail account, but I'm still waiting :(

  • $980 worth of shopping for my points last year. Pretty good for a card that costs $89 and not spending a cent on interest. 198k points for the year.

      • You did what ? Understand ?
