Best electronic online shop similar to Jcar Dicksmith?

I always need to buy something due to my hobbies so days ago I struggled to find a convenient priced ac adaptor or "plug pack" 220v to 9v 1000mh.

I bought it already but wasn't a very good deal (around $27 plus delivery).
Some of you guys might suggest the above mentioned shops or others like eBay etc..
I also found "many" online Australian shops all selling the same (really the exactly copy) "poor" made (if we compare it with the price) adaptor without detailed description and very high priced.

Maybe I could find the best deal at any computer swap market but I had no chance to go there.

Thanks for help.

    Have you tried http://www.dealextreme.com/ ?

Quality may not be good but prices are cheap and there are a lot to choose from.

I forgot to mention that the adaptor must have a set of swap able tips and the ability to change the polarity.

Your suggestion is very good and the quality is more than enough for a general purpose use but they don't have the one I need.

    Thanks.

  • Damn that's the kind of shop I was looking for also I can pick up and save money but even delivering is so cheap!

    This is the item: http://tiny.cc/59gn8

I needed it for a Casio keyboard but I bought already for $30 with delivery (pity me), anyways the shop is in my bookmarks already!

Thanks a lot, I can only give 1 vote :)

    http://www.electusdistribution.com.au/first.asp
Potentially about 30% less than Jaycar (its jaycar's wholesale division, or rather, jaycar is electus's retail division)
but you need to be registered for discount pricing, otherwise its the same as jaycar prices online.

Another seller is WES components http://www.wescomponents.com/
    or try:
    www.rockby.com.au
    http://www.altronics.com.au/

    • Very good shops indeed!

I think that electrodistribution and WES are more oriented to supply big quantities, they both only provide prices on request.

      Thanks a lot :)

If you register with WES and get a password, then you can download all the catalogues with pricing.
Very handy and you get email updates too.
My background is radio/electronics so these stores are necessities for me.
