  • If I only had a 3DS… Great games.

  • Are these any different from my NDS version?

the graphics will probably be 'remastered' aka not so pixellated. i personally prefer the pixel versions better. no change in terms of gameplay

Trilogy and Apollo Justice have improved graphics and some minor quality-of-life enhancements (I believe the court penalties and the save system are more forgiving). Some people also mention dialogue improvements. Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice are both 3DS exclusives (alongside iOS/Android). I personally prefer the remastered style, but they both have their charm.

      • what do you do in the game? I see these games in popular lists all the time, always been curious

They're kinda interactive visual novels. You're a lawyer who defends a client in a trial. You inspect crime scenes for evidence, talk to witnesses to get a picture of what happened, then go to court and cross-examine witnesses on the stand by making them clarify statements and presenting evidence when they're lying/forgetting something.

Most of the cases are self-contained (character development is consistent, but the stories in each case specifically don't always link together) in the first two games, but they link together more in the later games.

The stories in each case are usually pretty good, a lot of twists and turns. The characters are (personally) very likeable and there's a lot of enjoyable character interactions. Some characters have great development over the series.

Boy, I wish the eShop were available in web browser.
Nintendo can be so ahead of the curve in some aspects and so behind in others.

Are you saying I have to buy from my 3ds?

  • Which one is the best?

    • +8

They all follow on from each other, so best to start with the top one.

Are these also available on the Switch?

Has anyone finished the games without referring to walkthroughs? It’s so difficult

for the earlier games - up until Apollo Justice - I definitely had to use a walkthrough here and there. I have some fond memories of presenting every single piece of evidence for every statement until something finally got thru haha good times (I played these back when phone data was Not To Be Used 😂). After AJ they get pretty easy IMO, if you get things wrong enough the game will basically tell you the answer.

    • I think the only game I used a walkthrough for was the 2nd one.

    OBJECTION!
