Just because it has Japanese words on it, or it came from some random places in Japan, doesn't mean you should pay for it like it's Nikka or Suntory. There are a lot of companies trying to cash in on the Japanese Whisky hype.

Also to add Dan Murphy's online delivery system really isn't the best. They use endeavour delivery. Called them up yesterday to see if I could pick up my order from the depot as it was 10 minutes from my work and I couldn't guarantee if I'd be home. I was told "Yep, we'll get it ready, by the way we close at 2, or maybe 3"
So I go during my lunch break and talk to the warehouse manager who had no idea I was coming, took them over 20 mins to find my order, warehouse manager also said they close at 6:30. He said there is really bad communication with the customer service team and the warehouse team. Pretty bad reviews on productreview as well.

Does anyone have experience with Japanese whisky? I have never tried it and not sure what to expect.
You're missing out if you haven't tried real Japanese whiskey (not sure this deal qualifies)
Generally theres some top notch malts coming out of Japan. Lots of different styles. If I had to generalise I'd say the Japanese palate is a bit more subdued, so sherry monsters and peat monsters are more rare. Having said that I'd avoid unknowns like this one because of the danger of getting canadian spirit bottled in Japan. Stick to the established brands that source from japanese distilleries - Nikka, Suntory (incl Hakushu, Yamazaki), Chichibu (including the Ichiro's Malt brand) etc..
If you're interested in trying a really easy drinking blended whisky try "Nikka From The Barrel". They come in a very attractive little 500mL bottle and are bottled at 51.4% (not that you can tell by the taste). It's very pleasant served neat with maybe a drop of water. Nikka Pure Malt Black is meant to be very good too.
If you want some slightly more niche ballsy flavours some of the Akashi label bottles from White Oak distillery are pretty interesting.
Smells like those scotch or canadian whisky sent to Japan to be bottled and then claimed to be "Japanese" Whisky Not made in Japan
where does it say pack of 2 ?
Mine also said pack of 2 when I purchased, right through the checkout process… The receipt emailed to me says 1 bottle. The website appears to have been corrected to per bottle. Let's hope Dan honours the two

Would you by any chance have a screenshot of the deal showing the 2 bottles. I too ordered looking at pack of 2 but was sent one. Customer service tells me it's only one and I have made that up.
