    Thanks Napisque

  • Cheers OP, will get mine from OW. I have a $100 FC2 that I got from a deal a couple of years ago and it's still going strong. Maybe time for an upgrade!

    • same here! my FC2 is a bit banged up & was about to buy a new strap for it, but definitely time for an upgrade!

      • got a replacement strap for $4 just the other day for FC2

        • just looking at a $4 one on ebay atm. i think ill go that route actually. lol

          • @intruhvurted: nice one! not worth the upgrade methinks. unless you go versa 2

  • These are getting cheaper every month. Charge 4 release soon?

    • +1

Not so sure now that Google bought Fitbit.

      • +1

Any ideas on when Google wants to buy Apple JK

      • So will be nest charge or pixel charge

  • +6

i bought this a few weeks ago at $109, in my opinion it is a piece of shit not worth $50. try to avoid it, the touch screen is awkward to use and the 2 wrist bands, long is too long, short is too short, not comfortable for me to wear. too bad i opened and threw away the box, my bad, cannot return it now.

    • +8

I've found it quite comfortable, often forget I am even wearing it

    • -2

in my opinion it is a piece of shit not worth $50

The whole device category is basically a scam which claims to do impossible things such as monitoring your brain's electrical activity (or "sleep tracking" as they call it). There are no sensors that do this.

After the Google purchase these devices are simply used to remove your money by collecting our data and selling it to unknown third parties.

      • +7

(or "sleep tracking" as they call it). There are no sensors that do this.

do you use the app? the sleep tracking is one of the most useful things if your like me n work shift work

      • While I agree with what you are saying, there is some use in being somewhat aware of your sleep patterns that this can track. It can give you an idea of the quality of sleep that you have.

      • Even before google bought them i think that was FitBit's strategy. I had a FitBit Alta, and it annoyed me that i couldn't get my activity data from my FitBit to my phone without pumping it all through FitBit's servers.
I was traveling overseas and had no data so couldn't see my activity because FitBit had built spying on customers into their entire platform.

    • I got a Fitbit Inspire HR for $95 on Gumtree and I love it - I've been riding an exercise bike every day so I've been able to see my resting heart rate go down. It's got good battery life and it shows my phone notifications. I don't expect it to do more than track my heart rate and my steps though.

  • Called OW this morning, the lady advised me the parts number does not match with JB Hifi website, so she can not offer price beat. :-(
    $99 is good enough anyway.

    • I was able to price beat instore

    • +4

      Classic!

I'd really like to see the ACC stop this kind of conduct.

    • +3

Well that was better than the excuse they gave me on the Sharpies.

They said the colour was different, mainly because the product scan that was on the reject shop site was a different tone to theirs, even when the part number was the same.

    • Parts number? What a crock!

  • +1

    Does it have nfc?

    • Yes it has Fitbit pay

        • +7

          Not true.

All versions in Australia have Fitbit Pay. That info on the website is inaccurate.

          • +1

@dmac80: Oh, wow, jeez, I'm using it since December 2018 (also bought at JB) and never seen settings related to payments. I'm using Fitbit ver 3.4.2 on Android - still can't see an option to use it for payments. Anyways let me google it, thanks for the heads-up.

        • Every time people make the same ignorant comment. All Australian stock have Fitbit Pay and special editions is purely related to colours.

    This vs Xiaomi band 4?

    • Wondering same..

      • Xiaomi band 4 is currently on sale on Amazon - about 10 bucks off (Might be for prime members only). I have one it's awesome but pretty sure doesn't have NFC pay, if that matters to you. But it's also half the price of this one.

    • +1

Depends what you want. notifications on smart device? Xiaomi band 4. The downside is that it exaggerates your steps. You can be catching public transport or driving and it'll count steps. Battery life wise, it'll last you 20 days before it needs a charge

    • I have the mi band and I'm happy with it. I paid about $35, I don't think this is worth nearly 3x the price. I also tried a Garmin vivoactive ($250) and I ended up returning it because the mi band 4 did almost exactly the same thing.

      • Where did you get it for $35?

        • Chinese model on aliexpress, takes longer to ship but it's legit

  • Only thing there is no gps

    • +1

It can use your phone's GPS for activities that require it. But if it's a big concern to you then this product definitely isn't what you need.

  • Big difference for me with FC3 vs FC2 is the swim resistance, as I hate doing laps in a pool and not getting credit for it. I know you can manually enter, but it doesn't give you steps, which is critical when you have AIA Vitality to get the Woolworths $5 off vouchers

    • -1

it doesn't give you steps, which is critical

Why is a wildly inaccurate step counter critical?

      • He needs the steps for AIA vitality

        • I find I'm getting my points from the heart rate now from gym workouts. Handy tool, I like it. Bought one of these before Christmas and it's been pretty good

          • @BugsBunnyAUS: Gym visits automatically give you 100 points so technically you don't need to record HR. Its trying to hit the 12.5k daily target that's the issue.

            • @tarken: Only if it's one of their gyms though, which I don't visit

    • +1

tell me more about this AIA Vitality…

      • Sign up to AIA insurance, join the Vitality program, wear a Fitbit and it rewards you with vouchers.

Is it better than the samsung galaxy fit or watch?

    • +1

different products and different price points IMO ? I've used a FC2 for a few years and looking to upgrade with payments and waterproof features. Also can't bring myself to spend a few hundred more on a galaxy fit despite the additional functionality

      • Thanks, I just wonder to know how it is the integration with a S10

    • I'm currently comparing between Fitbit Charge 3 -vs- Fitbit Versa -vs- Samsung Watch Active 2 -vs- Garmin Venue

I am having no success in making progress.

    • +1

Anything is better than a Fitbit product, you may as well throw your money away because it'll probably break within a year.

      • +1

Express Manufacturer’s Warranty is 2 years in Australia

Friend used it with 1 that failed to sync. Lodged fault online, FitBit checked pnline data & agreed it was a hardware fault - quickly dispatched new product. Old FitBit came back to life, so had 2 complete FB, with different bands etc.

Wearing a 3yr old Fitbit - never any problems. In daily use.

  • waiting for FITBIT CHARGE4

  • +1

compatible with iPhone and Android phones. (Windows compatibility coming soon).

    Lol

  • +1

    Thanks for the deal.
    $98 at Harvey Norman
    $99 at Amazon before cashback
Must have updated after this JB deal.

  • cheers, picked one up from jb c&c

  • Good price! thanks!

  • +2

I have just picked up one from officeworks. The price is very good for a smart watch that has pretty good features. Glass screen, good battery life, light weight, works well with fitness apps. Its not an Apple watch but either is the price.

  • +1

It is shit don't buy it, on top of above, the exercises tracking in app is shit. I took a tram from work to home and it was recorded as running.i doubt anybody could have that stamina for that long.

  • google shows "Huawei Sync issues" (https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Huawei-Sync-issu…).
Anyone use Fitbit with Huawei phone?

    • +1

I use it with Mate 20 and yes, the sync is rather random. I've to refresh the app a few times for it to find the tracker. Sometimes its instant, other times it takes upto a few minutes.

    • +1

I have and it wasn't perfect. It paired and synced fine, but:
      - Automatic background syncing was unreliable. Manual syncing worked 75% of the time.

      • notifications would often stop working without a reboot and they were slow to come through. I'd sometimes get phone call notifications while I was already mid-call

      • it tanked my Bluetooth bandwidth when syncing or during workouts. It would make all Bluetooth headphones skip.

It's a shame, because it functions very well as a fitness tracker, but the phone integration, at least with EMUI, was abysmal.

I now have an Honor Band 5 and haven't had any of the above issues.

    • +1

I'm using a P30 Pro and having issues with notifications. They work intermittently… Might be better to refund and purchase a different fitness tracker unless there's a fix on the way.

  • +1

OW has updated to the same price.

  • Yeah, literally just walked in and it's now at $99 lol

  • Decent device but would note that it doesn't take to super hot baths nicely. Definately started seeing issues when I wore it into an onsen in Japan. My friends Apple watch saw no issues.

  • I ended up price matching using the Harvey Norman price at OW. Paid $93.10 at the Bondi junction OW.

Keen to use the new gen this time!

  • Thanks for posting this. I'd had my eye on the Inspire HR but this is rated higher on Wirecutter so I decided to get it instead. Bought it yesterday!
