  • Don't qantas and virgin regularly do sydney to new york for about $1300? And if emirates flys via dubai it makes it a super long trip

    • Agreed. These prices look average if they're economy seats (although it may be cheap for Emirates standards).

But if these prices were business class seats, I'd be all over it

  • Sydney - Christchurch isn't return. But if you are going over for snow and taking boards/ ski's it's a better deal than Jetstars offer.

Sydney to NYC for $1.7k is a terrible price, unless it's valid in a holiday period.

  • +1

    It's a sale… Not sure it is a bargain…

I looked for some dates to Europe, and couldn't find anything under $2k… So there doesn't even appear to be many of these 'cheap' seats available.

    • Yeah I was looking for flights to Heathrow or Gatwick and there was nothing special at all.

  • Sydney to Christchurch for $239 one way is the normal price

  • +7

Barely a deal, most of these prices are standard, if not they are even more expensive then they normally are. Definitely not a bargain and it's very deceptive marketing. Shame.

    • +1

+1 from me. Just a marketing ploy from Emirates, pretty standard prices here and peak season is the usual

  • Flow this route before and this would be the most expensive price if i took the one to NYC.

  • Prices are not standard to Dubai at least for sure. Prices in June or July usually are around 1700 or more.
It seems airlines are all now competing to attract more travellers. Etihad, Qatar and Emirates airlines are constantly in this game.
