      Reviews look good,

Probably would buy this if I didn't buy the Kathmandu jacket a couple of months ago.

No name on the waterproofing though if thats a big deal for you.

      • Same

      • DryVent would be their own developed waterproofing.

The only real issue is that 2.5L try to address the "sticky" feel of 2-layer shells with either a spray-on/print-on against skin layer which wears out quickly and cannot be replenished, or rely heavily on external waterproofing coatings to achieve the 1500mm that most companies consider "waterproof".

Generally for extended periods of rain/storms you want a 3-layer coat or for solid rain but no chance of damage due to bush/rocks/trekking you can get a 2L 'permanent' waterproof jacket like the GORE 'shake-dry' jacket or similar.

  • Good deal, already have a similar Kathmandu one, otherwise would have jumped on it.

      • Got it. Thanks

Its just a rain shell. OK price if you need one but nothing special, they have been around this price at Anaconda before.

Why click and collect only? So dumb.

No stock in anywhere near Brisbane.

    • Even Sydney has no stock lol. Nearest is Wollongong.

Very good price but I don't trust DJ's Click and Collect. It has never worked for me. Their online stock tracking is horrible. In the past, I have ordered things online, which were shown as in stock at a particular store but the order got cancelled later because they couldn't find it. At the same time I have tried things in store and then when I tried to order it online, to either use a code or a cashback, the item was shown as not in stock at that store, even though I was holding that in my hands.

    • Yep, it's happened loads to me to.

  • damn…nearest is highpoint in marybrynong..

  • How does this compare to decathlon jackets which are cheaper or around the same price?

North Face has more cache. Otherwise, they will perform fairly similarly. They will keep you dry but the material performance won't stop you from feeling sticky as well as say a Gore-Tex paclite or Polartec NeoShell. For 99% of users are wearing these jacket to keep them dry on the commute to work and keep them warm in late autumn it won't matter. If you're planning a multi-day trek up Kilimanjaro or Everest base camp I would recommend investing a little more.

    • Check the waterproof and breathability rating on decathonlon. Very likely that this North Face one has a higher rating. Dryvent 2.5L is at least 15K. I think decathlon is 10K at best so the north face will keep your drier for longer.

I can't stand this style of jacket and am amazed it retails for over $200. It's basically just a deluxe plastic poncho and when you start getting hot just fills with humidity (glassses wearers be damned).

It's a windbreaker and is usually meant to be worn over another jacket, right? At least that's how I always wore my Northface shell jackets. Sure, they're expensive but the quality is very high. I still have one I bought in high school and I graduated over 10 years ago, and apart from being a little faded it's still going strong.

    • Not breathable, then?

I used to carry a rain jacket in my backpack and would find it kept the rain off but my shirt would become drenched in sweat.

  • M is OOS

  • no stock anywhere, id mark this as a no deal. Looks like only 2 stores in VIC

  • thnx ordered L

  • Oof, Wollongong is the closest. Or Carousel.
Small is only available in those two stores it seems.

  • +3

Note, this is more used as an outer layer for wind and water insulation, don't buy this thinking it'll keep you warm. It won't.

  • Only XL and XXL available for me. Is it alright if I get a size bigger than normal?

    • +1

It is only a rain jacket, so larger might help keep more rain off more of you.

  • Thanks. Ordered M.

DJ's click and collect is so annoying. I ordered something and was even prompted to go pick it up. Only found out it wasn't in stock when I was at the store.

    What a waste of time.

    • Pre Christmas we ordered a kids scooter, after waiting a good 20 minutes in the queue, they couldn't find the order in the system/they had no idea where it was and said we must not have placed the order properly, despite providing the order details to them and showing the "ready to collect" email. The first lady to serve us was so rude, just walked away whilst my wife was talking to her and started serving another person instead of putting any effort in helping us!

We had to ask the "runner/picker" dude, he was like yeah, I picked it, it's over here…and he gave it to us.

Fast forward to only a week ago and DJs called to ask why we hadn't collected our scooter…we were honest and said we collected it already…could have had a free scooter!

      • +1

How did you find the runner/picker dude?

And they wonder why department stores are losing sales.

When I was in Japan, the level of service was just beyond anything here and the department stores there seemed to be doing well.

        • +1

He was just arriving at the service desk with a trolley full of more items he had picked.

          Yeah, Japan is ridiculous!

    • +1

Typical DJ's service. Had it happen to me before too. Myer is also the same, sms says ready to collect and I go into store to pick up and they staff tells me it's not there and can only offer refund. Waste of time so I have stopped online shopping with both stores

      • They should model themselves off the department stores in Shibuya.
