Matilda Bay Frothy 6 Pack for $10.90

Aren't all beers Frothy if you shake the can?

  • +2

    Interesting.
Apparently this, VB and Furphy's are all the same company (it's changed ownerships a few times though).
Any reason why suddenly Dan Murphys is doing deals on them?

Reviews don't look too good on this one.

    • CUB bought the some time ago and now all owned by InBev

      Probably an InBev promo

      • -1

Yeah never heard of InBev much but looks like "the Australian beer" is no longer even Australian?

        • +2

I’ve shifted to local craft mostly but some of them are just over the top with their blood sweat and tears stories. Still a fan of Young Henry’s and Riverside Brewing

        • +4

CUB hasn't been Australian for a long while now. Use to be owned by AB InBev - sold to Asahi last year..

But worth remembering, the still employ Australian's, and still brew in Australia, so feel free to keep drinking your favourite beer..

Oh well that's good at least. Probably best outcome considering.

better than Great Northern and Furphy's is little creatures(CUB) in geelong

    • +7

      Great Northern is downright awful.

    • +2

      Furphy isn't CUB.

Little Creatures is owned by Lion, which is owned by Kirin, which is owned by Mitsubishi Group.

      Frothy is owned by CUB.

CUB is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev, an offer has been made by Asahi to purchase CUB which hasn't been approved by the ACCC as yet.

      • NOICE!, so we are drinking Japanese beers

  • +4

This stuff in a can is horrible

    • -2

Apparently beer is best from a can.

      • +2

They're better stored in a can as it limits their exposure to light compared to a bottle, but when you're drinking the beer it should always be better to pour it into a glass rather than straight from the can/bottle.

I bought a carton of this when it was something like $25 on CUB eBay, and I feel like I paid too much.

Horrible, horrible beer. I'm not even that picky it just tastes very bad.

  • Snobs. I really like this one. Tastes half way between a lager and a craft beer in my opinion

    • Therein lies the problem.

    • I actually really like it too.. Unpopular opinion apparently haha

  • +1

These were terrible even at 25 for a slab i wouldnt buy them again. Also gave me a headache after only one drink. Same thing with asahi beer in a can.

  • +4

I bought a case of this beer. Half a beer in and I'm wondering what to do with the other 23 bottles. Terrible beer. Never again.

    • +3

Send them over. Donations always welcome

    • Stick with it - there is no such thing as a bad beer after the 3rd can/stubbie.

  • They're $9.90 in WA. App says $10.90 but the website and price tag instore is $9.90. Figured it's worth a punt at that price.
