That's not really a reason to neg it. It's still a sale for this book.

Everything in the book is on the wiki. Why pay for it?

        • +4

Why pay for a dictionary if you have your phone with you all the time?

          You're comparing two different products/services.

This is still a deal whether it suits your needs, ot not.

@richadam: Do you see people posting deals of physical dictionaries?

            • @askbargain: If you do please let me know.
Nothing more exciting than a clean, crisp, new dictionary.
Oh the smell of new print, and the controversy of new and excluded words.

I second the above sentiment that gamepedia is basically this with the benefit of free lifetime updates… The fact it's an actual book retailing for $39.99 is… lol.

I would not personally buy, but hey for a kid whose Minecraft skills might be better than their internet skills, why not.

In my case, my 7 yr old doesn't have direct and unrestricted access to the computer (and internet). In that case, a book would be more accessible to him when he wants to read up some info.

Or a kid who doesn't have two monitors, can't alt-tab etc

Better question to ask: Does the Minecraft generation even read (physical books)?

      Found the boomer

  • This looks like the kind of thing you’d see at those pop-up “all books $5 or less” stores

Thus isn't even useful for kids. This is for clueless parents who think this is a good gift for their kids, who will never use it because the internet exists

This book would be 7 or 8 minecraft versions out of date and wouldn't even cover bedrock…ie v1.8 was 2015, so likely written for 1.7….minecraft is now 1.15.1. lots of things have changed.
