  • Redwin Sorbolene is about $5/kg at chemist warehouse. Are these better?
Edit: Just checked, it's $6 these days

    • For my daughter with topical eczema, sorbolene causes severe rashes.

      • Good to know sorbolene is not so tame then. I always thought it was a very safe alternative

      • +1

I have the same with my daughter and I - I think as the sorbolene doesn't sink in as well as other creams for us, it just causes irritation. The creams that are absorbed faster seem to be better at preventing outbreaks. (But it will work for some people - what works for one person with eczema doesn't for another).

    • yep this keeps itching down better than sorbolene too

  • Good price.

  • Guys remember the entire dermaveen line is 40% off, so stock up on any of the products you use. The excema creams are usually really expensive, but at 40% off not so bad.

    • most of it.. not shampoo/conditioner and a few other things.
which is a shame - I am almost out of shampoo.

      • Yeah it appears the shampoo is not online at all and the conditioner is not in stock. it would be to do with the fact that it isn't strictly skin care though.

I use the Herbal Essences Shampoo and Conditioner, specifically the one that is supposed to give your hair more "volume". These have been the best ones I've found at woolies/coles in terms of being gentle/natural etc relative to price. Not perfect, but they smell damn good, feel damn good and have no colourants, silicones, parabens or gluten (got me stuffed why gluten matters), and when on sale are $5.50 for 400mL or $13.80 per litre.

They are also on sale for $5.50 for 400mL at woolies this week if you're going to run out and need a stopgap.

        • nice, thanks for the recommendation.
which do you think is the best scent for herbal essence shampoo?

          • @bohn: I reckon the "Repair" smells the best - citrus, spice and vanilla, but I use the "Naked Volume" as my hair is long and dead straight, but it sits really flat. It also smells good - citrus and mint, just not as good as the other.

Note this stuff still contains sulfates - unless you are going for something oatmeal based or expensive like dermaveen/pharmacy brand etc you're going to have sulfates.

I used to use the "Organic Care" brand, until in a deal for it on here someone linked a ton of negative reviews of it causing scalp itching and hair loss and I switched to this one.

            • @Wilburre: thanks for the info, I'm going to give this brand a try :)
