  • Got one. These are awesome

Have a go extending the headrest to highest position, it wont allow shoulders to reach highest marker so you wont be able to get the full use out of it. Happy to help you with more info if you want to get a refund and get something new. Send me a PM mate

      • Haven't had to do it yet as our son is only 14mths old. That being said we are in the process of switching it around. Will try it out then!

What did you get instead out of curiosity?

        also I can't PM you

        • Ah don't use ozb much so didn't know cant PM. We got a Britax Graphene, it's really good so far.

I wouldn't wait til you need it, get a refund and get something that will last

      • Hey BuyingStufIDontNeed, we are facing exactly the same issue! Have you got a contact at maxi cosy to negotiate a return? Or did you take it back to the store you bought it from?
        TYIA :)

My wife contacted Baby Bunting head office, then we went into Baby Bunting and they refunded it immediatelt no questions asked as theyre well aware of the known issue. If you got from Baby Bunting should be an easy process for you. Otherwise just contact Maxi Cosi head office.

Also, I've heard of them offering a replacement cover with the marker lower, dont accept that as a resolution as it is a cop out for their false advertising.

      • MAXI COSI Vela Convertible Car Seat with ISOFIX, 0-4 years, Concrete Grey.

Would this experience the same issue? We have this and my 8 months old has no issues so far.

        • I only know about the Maxi Cosi Euro NXT because we had one and had this exact issue, unfortunately don't know about other seats. However, you can have a look if it's an issue quite easily - just extend the headrest to the highest position, if the headrest sits below the marker, meaning your child's shoulders could not reach up to the highest marker, then it is the same issue and the seat was misleading in its advertisement.

          I hope that helps

@BuyingStuffIDontNeed: Thank you. We have the same issue I beleive. I bought it from amazon on May 2018. Contact amazon or Maxi Cosi……

      • Hi,

bought one of this as well for our new born next month. Can you please PM me?

        Thank you

      • that's interesting
my friend has a similar issue with the maxi cosi luna
he had to fight tooth and nail to get a refund
I got the maxi cosi luna pro from amazon recently no issues

friend no longer gets maxi cosi (was also burned with maxi cosi euro 4 years agi when that didn't have the right certifications) and sticks with britix too

I had one of these and returned it for full refund after 2.5 years due to misleading advertising by Maxi Cosi. The headrest does not extend high enough to reach the highest marker, meaning you cannot use for the intended 4 years (obviously depending on child height) in forward facing position.

There's plenty of info on the net so feel free to google this known issue, but save yourself the hassle and money.

Other annoyances was the tightening strap was ridiculously hard to get to a safe tightness.

    5/7 would NOT recommend

The straps on our maxi cosi always double over and jam up in the buckle. It’s a PITA and not a problem we have with other brands. I wouldn’t buy another.

Ok well after reading these i'll stay away from this one myself and keep an eye out for other deals, still have a few months left. Thanks for the warnings.

      Same and same

    • Babylove Ezy switch comes highly recommended in the Child restraints group and its only $159. I had a Graphene but I sold that to use this as I needed to swap the tether adjuster to the other side of the seat. I like how you adjust the straps with an easy push of the button instead of fiddling under the seat.

WE also had issues with the headrest.. hard company to deal with.

Good price but sounds like a bit of a dud if it can't go to the maximum adjustment. We've always preferred Infa seats.

  • If anyone is interested, the Amazon maxicosi10 coupon is still available and will be for some time.

  • I have two of these and have the same issue with the headrest height others mentioned but once my kids reach the max height I'll move them to a booster anyway.
Its pretty robust and well built which is more than I can say for their capsules and bases which are absolute junk. The capsule base has the most bodgy ISOFIX strap you could imagine. The EURO NXT seat is from a time when Maxi Cosi actually gave a shit about quality.

  • So I checked mine today. Head rest goes alright. Not short of the line at all as described. Maybe they fixed it up?

    • When I returned mine, baby bunts put a brand new one next to it and indeed the headrest goes above the top marker. It looked to me that maxi just moved the markers on the fabric as the construction seemed exactly the same. No way was I taking another one home, no trust in the brand.
