The low DPI isn't worth it

    1080 at that size?

    hard pass.

even normal 27" is too big for 1080 on a monitor

  • +1

for people saying dpi is bad, 34/4 = 8.5, 34-8.5=25.5, this is roughly an extended 25.5" 1080p monitor

still a wierd "upgrade" imo, a 50" 4k tv costs the same and has higher dpi

I've got a 3440x1440 and it's a very viable replacement for 2 monitors. I would not recommend or believe any marketing that says 2560x1080 is a suitable replacement for two screens

I have the MSI 1440p 34" and wouldnt go to a 1080p ultrawide after using that

I used one of these (same specs and design) for the past two+ years. Primarily for coding, reports and a bit of gaming and photoshop. The extra space is really good for referencing docs and the DPI didn't bother me even though I use a 4K laptop.

Recently it gave off some magic smoke while just under warranty but because I purchased it while in China it wasn't worth the trial.

The people who are wanking on the resolution/dpi obviously haven't used one at all or only for a short period of time.

IMO it is a great deal. IPS ultrawides are expensive, this isn't and the colour reproduction for sRGB is 99%. IPS also has clearer text and better viewing angles.

    • Seems like a circle jerk at this point to crap on 1080p monitors that are over 27" on ozbargain.

A lot of people are also not taking into account how far they will be sitting. Ive found that sitting at 60cm+ it becomes quite difficult to even try to make out the pixels

  • Found the same one on Gumtree for $380, probably can get for $350 hmmn

  • 32" Viewsonic VX3258-2KPC-MHD 144Hz Curved for around $400 is a better purchase

    • Not everyone is a gamer and it doesn't have ultra wide feature. On other specs i would agree.

Using this monitor for 6 months on a Win 10 desktop… just web browsing, word, excel etc… really good landscape for split-screens.

  • Keep in mind that HDR requires a brightness of 1000cd/m² to work properly.

This monitor only goes to 300cd/m²

Just something to be aware of

  • Resolution too low not HDR

all these commments just make it hard to decide

    • in the same boat. Might grab one and return if I don't like it. 60 days return from Aldi

thats what i am gonna do, mine is mostly for office use

        • mine is mostly for office use

Office use should be fine, I am using it now but I still prefer curved after I bought it.

          • @superforever: is that due to the viewing angles?

              @muzzy1907:

is that due to the viewing angles?

Yes because of that wide curved a bit more comfortable when you view the left and right side.

  • I bought the LG 34um69g from Computer Alliance eBay for 359. I'm not a gamer, but love the monitor very much. I'm not sure if this is the same model though.

    • I bought the LG 34um69g

I am using this now, should be the same just with speaker and height adjustable.

    • Do I hear wedding bells?

  • What resolution is best for production? Midi etc

Mainly will be used web browser, work, and music production software.

  • 1080p on a 34".
Nearly as good as the 720p on the 6.1" iPhone 11.

  • Confirmed model is 34WL500-B

    • Typing on it as we speak and I must say that I'm quite impressed straight out of the box. Yet to try the software.

Multitasking works well with two or three windows. Tried a 21:9 demo video on youtube and looks fine on 1080p, no noticable pixels like some people mentioned. If you're not using it for gaming and 4k then this monitor is more than enough to replace dual monitors.

  • Purchased this monitor from MSY in Nov. $375. Paired with Radoen RX 5700 for V-sync. No sleep issues. Great colour management (signwriter) and res. Dual input is great for 2 pc's. 400 plus frame rate in Crossout.

  • purchased this without realising the only input method is HDMI

    • Grab some cheap adapters from fleabay. It's what I did…

  • There’s two on special at Jamison ACT now for $350 so likely the same everywhere
