        :(

  • What does this mean?
“Note: Power output should not be above 5V, 2.4A or 6V, 3A when charging your phone with this AmazonBasics charging cord.”.
Does it mean it’s unsafe to use with a hi speed charger which can switch between 5 and 9 volts?

    • Does an iPhone or iPad ever draw more than 5V? I'm ignorant on the subject but assumed it was just the amps that changed. I.e. iPad "10w" charger is 5.1V x 2.1A = 10.71w

Yes, there's a few protocols they can use. All new iPhones (since 2.5 years) support the USB-PD standard if it's available, which can go up to 20V.

I don't think any Apple devices do PD over USB-A.

FYI the 3 footers in white are available for $5 each.
