Price drop on these to match the price from Ozgameshop. Believe this is the lowest price for this controller. Well reviewed "pro" controller for the PS4. Amazon generally have this around the $229 mark.

Very similar build to the Xbox elite, probably a little heavier which I actually don't mind. I would recommend if you are after a highly customisable controller and premium controller for the PS4 but obviously check reviews before buying.

I prefer using this over the Dualshock as I have always preferred the Xbox/switch pro controller style. Also this controller is both wired or wireless whereas the previous models were only wired connections.

My only grievance which is more with Sony is that you still need to turn the console on with the Dualshock controller.

Happy gaming and don't forget about Cashback!

  • Why is the v2 cheaper at $174?

    • $149 at JBHI North Sydney

  • One of the biggest differences is the old models are wired controllers only and the unlimited can be used wireless or wired.

  • +4

Allmost the same price for a standard console including standard controller.

  • Good controller but the plastic thumb stick inserts snap easily and I cannot seem to find replacements. Had to buy replacement metal thumbstick for the xbox elite and rebuild mine after all four broke. The new left stick dome rubs in the housing if the screws are fully tightened. Another question is will it work with the PS5 due out soon.

  • Obviously Xbox controller layout is better since they made a PS4 controller offset the analogue sticks.

The main reason I brought n Xbox one in the first place.

    • That doesn't mean offset is better, it just means that there is enough of a market of people that prefer offset and would like to use it on PS4. (At the very most, it says that the type of people likely to spend this amount of money on a controller probably play games that are more conducive to offset.)

Neither is "better" - it's preference. Personally, I think offset is better for games/gamers that predominantly use left stick (eg. for movement), while symmetrical is better for predominantly d-pad games. But mostly, it's just down to what you are accustomed to.

      But each to their own.

I think Razer Raiju has it right by having interchangeable d-pad and left stick. I wish Xbox Elite had that feature!

FWIW, I use an Xbox Elite (offset), but I predominantly play platformers and indie games, and if the Xbox Elite came in symmetric or interchangeable, I would have gotten that instead! (And I have never even owned or even really played PlayStation…I have an XB1 and a Switch!) :)

  • I barley notice switching between the two layouts of the dual shock and the nacon or xbox controllers. I do prefer the offset layout though. The paddles on the back of the nacon should protrude a little more i think. They are a little too flush. But if anyone is wanting a cheap way to improve their FPS game then the greatest advantage is found in just getting kontrol freak style thumb extension on your right thumb stick for aim. You can find them on ebay for around $5 - $6 if you hunt for them. At this price for a controller i would really want to know for sure they will update the firmware for ps5 and even then i would want to know the if new paddles on the ps5 controller make this controllers advantage kind of redundant for next gen ps5.
