Not the best price ever, but still the cheapest around at the moment for a very comprehensive bottle feeding kit

  • $121.25 from Amazon plus 8% cashback from shopback and $2 bonus cashback. $109.55 at the end

    • Today 12% cashback
Edit: but it adds GST? I’m getting $127 delivered

      • it was yesterday's deal of the day
edit: I just check the whit one still shows $121.25 and black one shows $125. I am a prime member.

        • Maybe that’s why, I’m not a prime member but ebay plus yes, so I’d go with Punnet code to have it $115

  • Is this a good deal?
We are due in a few months and starting to checkout these types of things

We bought a previous generation of this kit about three months ago.

The bottles we found a bit clumsy and they're quite wide compared to various alternatives. We're still using them but will probably phase them out rather than buying the second level of faster teats. The larger ones aren't bad for storing milk though. If you end up using formula, they say you're supposed to make it up each time, but ain't nobody got time for that, unless you also buy Perfect Prep or something like that, but that has it's own issues I've heard.

The steriliser was fairly cheap in quality and leaks water onto the bench (not sure about the 3rd gen here though, might be better) and there's no drying function in such a cheap unit. It was incredibly annoying to be running fans to dry them overnight so we bought a uPang which is an expensive unit but TBH the money was worthwhile to save time on sterilisation and increase what we could sterlise too.

The bottle warmer was fine, we use it sometimes, but when bub is screaming for milk in the middle of the night you usually don't want to sit around warming it up. She doesn't mind cold milk at all, and it's fine for babies, so she usually gets it that way. If you can get your baby on a schedule better than us maybe you'll be able to plan time for warming milk more.

The chiller bag we've used a few times. Note that it doesn't chill like the warmer warms, it's just an insulating bag. It's necessarily big to fit the Tippee bottles, and we've also used it to hold both a small ice brick and a smaller bottle when we're out and about. We've just moved to a chiller bag that actually has ice packs built into the walls though and it's more convenient.

The teat tongs we haven't used once. I haven't had difficulty not touching the teats.

So while I'd say that we have or are moving on from most of the stuff in this kit, it was still good for us when bub came a month early. But if you have more time and can do more research you might find other things you prefer. Assuming you have the financial means, you'll probably be willing to sacrifice some money for some sleep once bub comes.

I can't quite remember what the kit cost for us, as I didn't have time to hunt bargains at the time, but this price looks reasonable to me.

      • Awesome, thanks for spending time to break it down for me. Massive help! Cheers!

        • One thing I forgot, if you go down the path of a nondrying steriliser, you might want to get a drying rack. We used this Boon starter kit and it does the job:

          https://www.catch.com.au/product/boon-baby-feeding-starter-p…

If we did it over or didn't buy the uPang, we'd add a few Boon Pokes though as they look like they hold bottles better than the Twigs or Stems. There's no Pokes in that kit though.

      • Really good info. Have you found any decent sterilizers that also dry? Nevermind I just saw the bit about the Upang

        • Yes, and as this is OzB, I should add that I've read here and elsewhere that UPang is discounted at pregnancy expos, although we weren't able to wait for ours.

On the cheaper side of drying sterilisers (but still nowhere near as cheap as the nondrying one here), there's also Rizee UV sterliser we considered, as well as a Minbie steam steriliser. Both are smaller so you might need to run it more, and the steam sterilisers run a lot hotter and wetter so there are a lot of things you can't sterilise (e.g. syringes for measuring vitamins, if you need that, they'll melt), and other softer plastics. Most baby stuff will go in a steam steriliser though, if not it'll be in the manual.

          • @mattythecapybara: Yeah we got the starter kit and the perfect prep because we were desperate for sleep. Oh well… I suppose they might come in handy for the next baby as well

  • Don't buy this. Worst product ever. I returned it after it stopped working after 2 weeks. The heat pad is the main issue, Check out the reviews. I think that is the reason they are now selling it in cheap price.
Later we went with Avent microwave sterilizer… so much easier to use.
