Stricter Punishment to Law Breakers

So, today I woke up to the news of four innocent kids passing away in Sydney due to one perons's drink driving. May their souls rest in peace. I believe one of the big reasons behind this is weak judicial rulings. These judges give stricter punishments for downloading pirated stuff but much weaker punishments for traffic offences, drug / alcohol possession charges, sexual assaults etc.

Do you think there should be much more severe punishments for these as well?

Ok just going to throw a spanner in the works here. My wife was attacked and viciously raped on her way to work. It destroyed our marriage our sex life everything as you can imagine. The guy got 8 years, she was counting down every day until he was free… We went through so much pain he wasn't drunk, stoned or on drugs, he was just a mentally unwell person. Our therapist worked through everything with us and put it in perspective…stuff will happen in your life and we have to deal with it best we can. We have moved on and are both better people for it. We never wanted the guy who did this dead… that is so wrong. We have learned to love life more. Unless you have been there don't comment on what YOU HAVE NOT been through.

    • Sorry to hear that; such a terrifying experience for your wife. Thank you for supporting your wife through this ordeal; you are often an overlooked individual in the healing process. I wish you both much strength and happiness for the future.

  • Death penalty and elimination them all is the way to go

    • The real issue is the justice system has been corrupted.

pop-ulism - a rebadged fascism - has produced a sick world where all institutions have rotted away from within. The law is supposed to be uniform and to be just. This article makes plain that that is no longer the case

If the driver was a yank diplomat they would be safe at home, courtesy of our America first government. If they were aboriginal they would be locked away forever. Australian law like most countries is broken, your citizenship varies by colour, and the truth in most situations is like a turd - and no-one wants to go near it.
