Shadow of The Tomb Raider has been for $9 for weeks until like week ago when they bumped the price to $19

    • +1

It still is $9, I bought it a couple of days ago for $9. Weird advertising tactic.

  • +7

Available on gamepass FYI for XBOX

    • Also available if your friend has it and wants to lend it to you if you're into rentals

    • +1

I think it's just about to be removed.

      • +1

Yes it is leaving Game Pass in about two weeks, and I never got around playing it, so this deal caught my eye.

        • Does Microsoft publish a list of what’s going when?

          • +1

@fookos: I get notifications via the Game Pass app. They'll tell you which games are leaving soon so you can play them before they go. Usually they do it a few weeks ahead.

            • +1

@Ge3ks: Thanks mate. I’ll check it out 👍🏻

      • That is correct.

        https://www.trueachievements.com/n40550/xbox-game-pass-leavi…

Could be two weeks, could be four weeks.

    • Is the gamepass version the definitive edition?

  • +3

    CRAZY HOT PRICE

    • +10

      It's Croft, not Price.

  • +1

Woah, never thought you’d post a deal Geeks.

Anyways, any Switch deals from that catalogue?

    • +1

Ha. Sorry at work now, left the catalogue at home. But my son who wants a Switch pointed out that it was ~$450. No idea what that are normally but it didn't seem cheap to me.

As far as software goes, only Tomb Raider was cheap. Everything else seemed pretty standard.

      • Yeah, I think that's the normal price for a Switch, not a sale. Sale prices tend to bring it down to $399 or thereabouts.

  • +1

Anything else of note in the catalogue?

    • I'd also like to know…

    • +2

I have changed the image to include the whole gaming page.

  • -8

Should of been this price since launch

    • It's not even a -bad- game, just forgettable. Sad to see Tomb Raider slide back into mediocrity after the reboot started so strong.

      • +3

I got it the other month on PC from the Humble choice and have been slowly working through it.
Yeah I really hate the decision to make this native village be the central Hub 'town' section that you constantly return to again and again, and have so many walking and talking bits.

Uncharted mastered the art of believable and witty dialogue while still providing engaging gameplay, this has just turned into a cutscene filled Rpg-light wannabe with all the quests and currency system and crafting and NPCs etc. when the run'n'gun formula suited the series much better.
        =(

      • Just finished this after playing fallen order - maybe because fallen order was TERRIBLE, but I really enjoyed shadow of tomb raider. Great value at $9 (think I "overpaid" when I got it for $10 at eb!)

        • I thought fallen order was amazing but I'm also a big star wars fan. I bought shadow during its release month and don't regret it. While the game is quite interative and some would say forgetable, it was still a fun experience especially if you like 3rd party action adventures.

        • I’m so glad someone else thought Fallen Order sucked

  • Yes it's well worth $9 imo, but this seems to be a semi-permanent price now.

  • disappointing game. this should be as the title suggests, stay in the 'shadow'

  • +4

More importantly, Dreams is out February 14. Everyone should buy it!

    • -4

      Why? Looks rubbish.

  • So not worth buying the definitive edition will all the dlc's then? Which isn't available here in AUS yet

    • You’ll want this chore of a game to be over well before any DLC thoughts

  • +2

Assassins Creed $79? Just a collection of old games.

    • Yeah I'm unsure why this is so expensive too considering I got black flag for $19 which is already remastered for ps pro ?

  • +1

Where is the PC version of a cheaper price?
Feels like PC gamers are not love at all.

    • It was in a recent Humble Choice - together with other 6 or 7 other games roughly $18 AUD.

  • Any deals on fitness watches?

  • Crazy hot price!

  • $9 is not a bargain for a buggy, game breaking glitch fest. Just installed it today. I lasted about 2 hours in total gameplay. I'm sure EB will give me 10c for it.

  • +1

Got my $9 ordered for click and collect today, thanking you OP ;-)

  • Jesus.. How is an Xbox One S still $379.. Plus base PS4 for $479! Crazy!

    • Well, base PS4 + Death Stranding. But yeah, this current generation of consoles don't seem have have had their prices cut as steeply later in the cycle as previous generations. If I recall correctly, by the end of its run the PS2 had been reduced to under $200 (< US$100 in the USA). I suppose it's admirable the PS4 has sold as many units as it has relative to PS2, considering the price difference, but you have to wonder how many more they could have sold if they'd been more aggressive with the pricing. I suppose when you're that far ahead of the competition there's not so much incentive to chase even more market share, they're probably more focused on profit margins. And likewise, Microsoft have probably resigned themselves to not catching up so didn't see any point cutting their prices too far and were just content to make a profit on what units they did sell. I wonder if the competition had been closer then would we have seen sharper pricing from both sides?

    • +1

There will probably be a huge drop in price around the middle of the year as PS5 and Xbox Series X are expected to drop between September to November

  • +1

Good timing for anyone wanting to continue playing after it leaves GamesPass. Not sure why you would though, it's quite bad. Still, good price.

    • That's exactly what I'm doing, especially because the standalone game has disappeared from the Xbox store (only definitive edition remains) and I already own the DLC from a previous sale.

  • +3

Too many games so little time

  • +1

Why PC never get these price ….

    • Eh? PC games tend to be the cheapest of all if you keep an eye out for sales (if not outright freebies) on Steam, GOG, Epic, Humble, Green Man Gaming etc etc etc.

      • YEah it can be cheap but it tends to be always cheaper in console, i think the cheapeast ever was $20 ish couple months back for this title. I would definitely buy shadow of tomb raider for $9 on PC.

  • Pretty sure ps plus going to give it free soon. Lol

    • …which will matter squat to people that do not buy PS Plus.

  • +1

Bought XBONE version even I don't have XBONE XD

  • +1

    Bought. Cheers OP.

  • Bit disappointed, game came unsealed with a dog eared redemption code inside, for my self I wouldn't care but when you buy it to give to someone else I don't want a opened up store return, we have EB for that

    • game came unsealed

One store only have unsealed copy and I went to another one for sealed copy.

  • Merged from [PS4, XB1] Shadow of The Tomb Raider $9 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi

Was looking at trying out the recent Tomb Raider games and randomly stumbled across this deal.

There seems to be stock available in a few of the stores near my postcode, 3145, but not at all of them.

    Xbox One version

    • Been this price awhile now.
I picked one up at Erina for the Xbox One.
It wasn't on the shelf but I went to the counter and they had them in the drawer.

    • Thanks OP. Posted few weeks ago because but marked as expired:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/516500

    • Good price, I picked this up for $10 from EB Games at the boxing week sales. Haven't played it yet but given the PS5 will support backwards compatibility its a solid pick up.

      • but like Xbox's announcement today, do we know exactly what PS4 games will be backwards compatible?

    • Thanks op. Does anyone know where I can get DOA 5 or 6 for a good price?

      • +1

Try Amazon they sell dead or alive 6 for ps4 $28,the cheapest i can find.

    • Men, finally a Tombraider for men.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkTdj-XRB0Y

      • Looks like God of War or Soul Reaver.

    • I’ve observed that a majority of Square Enid published games crash in price soon after or within a year of release, especially when the game “flops” / under perform in sales. Final Fantasy games price drops hard as well after a year or so.

    • At this price it's definitely worth getting. I'm about half way through and am really enjoying it. A much larger world to explore than I expected, and I've found the story/screenwriting surprisingly compelling.

    • Cheers OP, grabbed a copy for my ps4 pro!

    • Got the first 2 on the PC through steam and waiting for a price drop for the third one

I think I paid about $20-$25 each for the first 2

    • What about PC version?Do they have it in-store as well ?

      • +1

Nope JB and EB games don't have the PC Version :(

  • the definitive edition with all the addons is on special on steam for $29.37 so I grabbed it

I know its dearer than the Console versions but I prefer to game on the PC if I can
