That's how we ended up needing a pram…

      LOL

      • Lots Of Love to you too…

Have this pram and this is a great price for a quality pram.
    Few little comments.
It’s great on smooth paths but doesn’t handle rough terrain that well, even steep driveways/ramps you need to be careful with as it has very little shock absorption on the front.
It can only fold up from a front facing position with the seat, if rear facing you must remove the seat to fold. Other than that it’s great, very comfy for bub. All though keeping this color clean would be a challenge.

    • +2

Yeah there's not really any shock absorption for rough terrain. It's like a horse and cart in that regard - no suspension and it probably puts more strain on the wheel/axle. I keep worrying the constant strain is going to cause something around the wheel area to break. However, I'm a year in and it's holding together with nary a rattle, so it definitely seems to be sturdy enough to handle it!

One other problem we've had is the little latch that holds the pram closed when it's folded doesn't lock properly anymore. I think one time we may have folded/bent it outward too far so it's lost some tension. It's a small part that screws in individually, so I'm sure we can get a replacement.

Hardly a complaint from me though, more just corroborating with your comment :) It's a great pram and I'd highly recommend it, along with my partner and family members who have used it.

        Bugaboo.

    • +2

Agree with everything, specially the point on keeping it clean. Ours is only 1 yr old, but looks like its been passed on generations! Would recommend darker colours.

Good price for EOL pram, our OG Jive is great.

I think the biggest change between 2 and 3 is the sleep approved bassinet

Got this pram, its quite decent and this is a good price as they don't normally sell cheaper, just with more accessory packs. I also like the darker frame than the bog standard silver frame (that I have). The maroon colour actually looks pretty good. But in reality, the minute you put a kid in it, you stop looking at the colours.

As donkcat mentioned, its not the best for rough terrain and there's a fair bit of movement in the body which I guess can be a good thing as its less impact on the kid. When the bassinet is in, it definitely feels like there is a lot of sway in it but the seat feels a bit more secure. The seat itself has been super comfy and the kiddo much preferred it to the bassinet, which only got a few months of use.

One of the good things is that this pram fit in a Commodore boot with the bassinet sitting on top of the frame length ways, so only half (or just under) was taken. A lot of prams couldn't fit the bassinet in the boot whilst sitting on the frame. Another good thing is that when folding it down, all 4 wheels stay on the ground, which means the material doesn't get as dirty by not touching the ground.

It's a good pram but 2yo manage to break stitching of the harness. Had to mention the ACCC to get a replacement. I found that bit poor behalf of them.

  • What year model are these gen 2 Jives?

      released in 2018.

Not sure why I got downvoted.
It was cheaper as you didn't have to pay shipping. Jive 2 Platinum $500 + $100 bassinet

      • Wish I knew about this would have saved myself $19.95 shipping!

  • I have this pram, it's fantastic! And this is a great price! But, as we're starting to travel more often as a family, we are considering selling our Jive2 and getting the Redsbaby Skip2 instead. Has anyone had any experience with the Redsbaby Skip? It's hard to get to a demo day and I can't find any clear comparisons between Jive2 and Skip2.

    • +2

As far as travel prams go, it wasn't that good compared to others on the market. We had friends who were assessing it when we got the Jive and they decided against it.

      • Ah cool thanks for that. Do you know what they went for?

  • Great pram, we got one - paid full price. Bit bulky/heavy, check you can carry + fit it in your car.

  • This or the comparably priced Baby Jogger City Mini GT? This seems to include more however the GT seems better suited for off-road terrain/ parks and walking the dog

    • +2

We have the baby jogger city. I prefer the one wheel on the front - easier to turn and fold in half. It’s about to get a second run with another due in April.

      • +1

Thank you! Will probably stick with my gut and go the Baby Jogger as I think its more suited to our needs but this price/ inclusions is tempting

  • I prefer uppababy cruz $600 on sale but no bassinet.

  • Is $600 a normal price to pay for a pram? What are other value bang for buck prams? I.e. The eneloop of prams?

    • About $7 for a pack of 12

    • It's pretty cheap to mid range. Think we spent near $1100 or so for the Jive 2 with an extra seat and other accessories. At its $900 original price, the pricing was still relatively mid range for this model. Plenty go for $1500+ especially if you start wanting dual seats etc.

Honestly for a pram that felt good to use and could support a second child later on, Redsbaby was the cheapest we came across. Theres plenty of cheaper brands we tried but we didn't like them and we plan to get years of use out of it. If you want to spend less than $600 and aren't in a rush, I'd go to a store and test some prams and then watch out for them to pop up on gum tree. Even second hand though many of the better ones were still $500ish.

    Wow, babies are expensive

    • No u

      (You were baby once)

      • Yes, and I was expensive. I feel bad for my parents

        • I wasn't but I have six siblings so I feel bad for my parents too x.x

    • +1

Prams, cots and a few other items like that are initially. For the first 6 - 12 months if you breast feed and use cloth nappies instead of disposables then they're pretty cheap outside of daycare though. Biggest cost is lost income if you come from a dual income family.

Babies are a magnet for relatives, friends and colleagues who all want to contribute clothes and toys. A lot of baby stuff you can get second hand too, not like the baby will complain.

    • Babies are expensive when you spend $1k on a pram… this is not essential.

I definitely did not have that as a baby.

  • I think I'll pick one up. We've got a Steelcraft Savvi (roughly $400 on sale) and we're going to return it to babybunting as it has been downright dangerous with the front wheels getting jammed when crossing the road of getting on and off the train/tram.

  • Only the Mulberry colour left?

    • You won't gaf about colour when you're sleep deprived and walking it like a zombie for the first few months. 😂

    • It's the best one. Looks terrific.

  • Mulberry Tandem not available

  • I'm getting "The selected product combination is currently unavailable" on every Jive2 option?

Went to the baby expo last year to grab a redsbaby based on all the amazing reviews. Walked in and went straight to buy one but were thoroughly dissapointed. The quality was abysmal and it's bulky as. Felt cheap, has no suspensions whatsoever and quite rudimentary. $600 is way too much for such an inferior product. Was quite a dilemma since we weren't considering anything else. There were a few more people who felt equally disappointed as us and had to look for alternatives.

In the end we ended up buying what we had never expected but were extremely impressed with the quality..an icandy! We've taken it everywhere and handles all terrains fabulously!
Try for yourself and don't blindly buy redsbaby based on half fake reviews online! I'm surprised at how so many new products launch and suddenly have thousands of fabulous reviews overnight and people think its all legit whereas known good brands that have been around forever only have a handful.

    • This is true, it's descent pram but nothing special, At least go po baby expo and compare it with other pram.

    • Isn't an Icandy well over $1000? I'm looking online and I'm seeing prices of $1400 on sale, and to get the equivalent to what we got for $900 (Jive 2 with bassinet and accessories), it looks like you'd be paying near 2k. I'm sure its a better product, but for the price you'd expect it.

      • We got our iCandy for $500 brand new as it was the last piece left and the staff at the expo were in great mood :D
Also found Silver cross quite good. They were happy to reduce prices down to $700 with the bassinet included. They usually have great promos online too. Cheers!

    • +1

Ditto. We went to the baby expo in Melbourne last year to test and buy the Redsbaby. Build quality was poor, pram was flimsy and when using the tandem mode there is no space in the basket. We bought an Uppababy Vista. We got it at a very good price and extremely happy with the purchase.

  • If you want high quality prams and baby products, you can't beat Baby Bunting. They have the best stuff in there and they also have many bricks and mortar stores around where you can go and actually have a feel of the product you purchase instead of buying blindly on line and relying on others' opinions.

    • Yea, love Baby Bunting. Go in test it out and if you find it cheaper online, get it online.

I was in there to buy a bath stand as washing a baby in the bath tub will kill your back and I found it cheaper on Amazon with free shipping, so I bought it online after checking it out at Baby Bunting.
