For people who think that you have to spend a fortune to get something safe

    • They all should meet Australian Standards for minimum crash protection. This one has better side impact protection due to the air cushions on both sides of the head.

      • Looks like 2x small/ travel pillows attached either side of the head adds $300? Velcro pillows on to other models?

    • So true!!!!

  • Can anyone confirm the difference between this and Britax Safe N Sound Maxi Guard Pro+?

    • Platinum Pro+ rear facing from 4mth
Guard Pro+ only forward facing from 12mth

    • Your child will outgrow this Platinum Pro seat at about 4 or 5 years. The Maxi Guard Pro can then take over until 7+

      • true but rear facing car seat is much safer

  • Oh geez, about to start researching car seats. First due in June. Feels expensive though curious what the 'ozbargain' favourite car seat is?

i just made my selection based on tests and recommendations from this site: https://www.childcarseats.com.au/

i ended up with the mother's choice Adore AP, which is also a pretty highly rated product that's cheaper at around $350 rrp, and ended up getting it for about $290 on sale.

      Of the extended rearfacing options:
      - BabyLove EzySwitch $159
Cheapest ERF seat there is, but still has active head restraint feature
      - Britax Quickfix $349
Target rebrand of Brava (but this often goes on sale for same price), which isn't different enough from the Graphene to justify the price IMHO. Shortest seat on market if you have a small car or tall passengers, easy adjust harness, ISOFIX
      - Infasecure Emperor $349
Big W rebrand of Grandeur which is usually a couple hundred more. Extended rearfacing and extended harnessing, this will go from newborn to 8yo if you have the backseat space to fit it

This is RRP seats. Of course an OzBargain deal will trump them

A quick review for those of you actually considering it - We bought this a year ago for around the same price (its worth waiting for the sales) and its a fantastic seat. Very comfortable for the little guy, easily adjustable, very easy to clean. Good quality materials, still perfect after a year of use. Can use the isofix (if vehicle is compatible) for the rear facing setup. Features are comparable to other seats in this price bracket, comes down to personal preference.
