This popular car seat is on clearance at Big W.

$50 less than this popular deal from July.

Purchased one of these at the start of the year for $450 and have found it to be great in our small car (Mazda CX-30). Just bought another one to prep for the next little bub!

Was quoted $55 for delivery, but C&C was an option at all my local stores (Lake Macquarie region).

Honestly, this car seat has more tech in it than my actual car.

    Great seat.

I'd sit in it if i was 0-4

  • Just purchased one of these last week, they had C&C from the store in Katoomba, NSW.

    Very happy with it!

Wouldn’t you get a 1-8 front facing for the first child to go into while the second goes into your existing 0-4 extended rear facing?

    • This one is also front-facing, so will use it for 2-4 yrs. These are also meant to be great in smaller cars, as you can fit 3 seats side-by-side if needed.

      • Yeah but once you hit 4 years old you’re going to need a third seat with your method

        • +1

Correct. Planning to have 3 kids, so would need one anyway, and will most likely have 0 and 2 yr old at the same time, hence 2 of these. I get your point, but definitely prefer these for compactness in our small car. These are also meant to be safer, especially when rear-facing.

          • @themadman: 100%

A cheap booster seat for a 4 year old can be easily had for like $129.

Better to fork out for a good / compact child seat where you get rearward facing seat for as long as they fit / are comfortable with

For use, we have 2 side by side and the occasional person (adult like grandma or friend) sitting in the driver side rear passenger seat.

Depends. This will be more compact than an X-8 seat, so may fit better in cars with less space (eg. the X-8 seat may interfere with front leg room too much when rear-facing, or may not fit 3 across). Note also that ERF is best practice, and many people rear-face to 4yo.

Some people also prefer to buy a 0-4 seat, which will likely fit a small child better than an X-8 seat, and then buy a new seat 4 years later, when newer seats with potentially new technology/features are available.

FWIW, we have Graphenes, but bought a 0-8 seat for our large SUV instead of buying another 0-4 seat (like you suggest). But, I'd say the people on the child seat groups for the most part seem to advise sticking with 0-4 seats (for the above reasons). Make of that what you will.

    • It is safer to keep using rear facing for as long as your kid can fit.

  • No isofix in booster seats (4-8 age range). So that’s your call. Also depends how many kids you might have and spacing between them. Technically, car seats have 10 year life I believe.

    • Confused… You mean this unit doesnt offer isofix fixture for when they get to 4-8yrs?

      • +1

They mean that someone may prefer this seat (0-4) which has isofix, instead of buying an X-8 seat, as suggested by Gonltruck above. (They were trying to respond to Gonltruck.)

Not the best on results for protection on https://www.childcarseats.com.au/

    Forward Facing Protection
    2.6/5

    Rear Facing Protection
    3.2/5

Scores well for ease of use though…

Not having an accident is the best way to keep your kids safe.

      • +3

        Not driving is even safer

        • true dat

  • i just washed this baby seat and planned to put it on FB for sale. Didnt know it is still so popular.

    • Location and price ?

Baby n.3 is incomming 2026, budget is tight.

  • I don't have a convertible. Will this fit my standard SUV?

    • This is one of the most compact baby seats on the market. Great for small cars. And three of them can fit side by side in big cars.

  • Is this newborn ready? Or do I need to buy a newborn padding/insert?

    • +1

Yes, this will be suitable for a newborn. Comes with an insert.

If the newborn is premie / low birthweight, I believe theh recommend using a LBW capsule instead. But otherwise, this should be fine.

      • Thank you so much

  • Great seat. Only negative I can say is our little dude seems to get pretty hot in it at times. Located in QLD though so could be just that.

  • For the Melbourne folks, there might still be a few left in Big W South Yarra (Chapel St). At least that's what shows on the website.

  • Hi
Can you recommend the next car seat after this ?
    Suitable for a 4-8 yo

    • +1

we are at that point and are going for the Maxi Guard. High CREP safety rating (3.5/5). Not sure why, but the more expensive Maxi Guard Pro has a lower rating, and by quite a bit too (1.95/5). It does have different materials and some heavier "protection" tech, and ChatGPT tried its best to guess that maybe its heavier weight pushed the rating down.
