Where Is Everyone Selling Their Reward Credits since It's Banned on Ozb?

I tried posting a classified ad for selling AMEX $450 Qantas Credit since we have had a newborn and won't be travelling anytime soon. The post was removed since there are new rules outlawing these classified ads.
I searched and found another thread (back in September) but had no real answers and since sometime has passed I'm curious if anyone has found another marketplacea to sell similar credits.

  • Why do the rules prevent this?

This was a reply from the moderators:

Please ensure you have re-read the Classified Posting Guidelines. In particular "No referral solicitation or offering personal services/purchasing on behalf of others" which has been recently updated/clarified. Reselling travel credit, a personal service and something you purchase on behalf of others is no longer allowed.

I'm guessing some members have been ripped off. But, the classifieds come with warnings and you should really only deal with people after checking their history and making somewhat of a calculated guess.

I've raised this and this before. Out of 100+ voters, the majority feels the classifieds posting guidelines are too restrictive. The mods' reason is simply OzBargain is not a marketplace and their stance is, if you don't like the classifieds, go use something else.

Completely agree with you. Not being able to sells flights anymore is bullshit. Who gives a (profanity) if it's supplementing the cost of my credit card, it's not like me having that credit card is preventing someone else from having it. I get my card supplemented, someone buys a cheap flight, it's a win-win. As much as I love this site, I've stopped contributing anything because of all these shitty decisions by the management team.

  • Hypothetically speaking, how much cash do people want for the $450 credit?

    • -1

      Usually around $420-30

      • What?? I sold for $350. Saw some sold for less. Wanted it gone quick for the churn and burn.

      • Nope. $300 is going rate, look at the sold posts

  • I put buying/selling credits/points at the same risk level as buying iphones/giftcards off gumtree (high risk). If you get ripped off it turns into drama, and people feel the mods have an obligation to help you.

Doesnt suprise me these sales are banned here.

  • I agree that it sucks that ozbargain changed the rules. I recently contacted someone with a WANTED ad and was able to make a deal.

TO EVERYDAY OZBARGAINERS: If you want to save on travel, post a wanted ad on Ozbargain forums as now you have the power. eg. You can probably offer around $300 for $450 of Amex travel credit.

  • Just had my post removed, didnt know this was restrictive now.

What are the alternatives now to sell the qantas amex credit? need to offload ASAP
