I’ve got the 2700X and it’s very capable.

    • +6

Ive got the 6700k and its a good chip

      • I wanted intel but amd seemed cheaper per core or whatever. I dunno.

The bloke that negged me doesn't understand that i made a completely irrelevant statement like the original comment purposely.

@Grish: As if calling someone "smart ass" is any better

            • @Grish: Lol, that fired back!

              • @No ONE: Yeah, and it goes to show how insensitive the immature Ozb community actually is.

They favour and fuel the bullies.

Btw I didn't call anyone a smart ass I simply labelled his actions (purpose) as smart ass.

It's these sorts of people that inspire and motivate bullying.

@vid_ghost: Saying the i7-6700K is trash is just plain silly. It's still a very capable CPU even today.

              • @TilacVIP: I only started using my 2400g system because I'm a greenie otherwise 2600k is still good for my basic gaming needs (Cs go and Occasional newer games)

            • @vid_ghost: I could not find the video you are talking about could you please link it

              • @Ostrk: I "think" he got it confused with the i5-7600K, which Hardware unboxed showed how the 1600 fell behind the 7600K when the 1600 was released in comparison to just a few months ago, where it now (with better drivers) outperforms the 7600K.

As for the Ryzen 5 1600 outperforming the i7-6700K… I don't think so.

              • @fiend: Even the 4790k is still capable enough. I would love this Ryzen though!

              • @fiend: That's an irrelevant benchmark. Why?

Because people aren't recommending Ryzen because of highest FPS (where it loses to intel still) but because of minimum FPS and 1% FPS where Intel is falling behind due to lack of cores.

Simply put Ryzen is smoother significantly more of the time with modern game engines. Ryzen 3600 made the i5 irrelevant.

    $259 + $11.55 Shipping = $270.55 at Shopping Express

Cheaper at Futu Online $268 delivered.

pair it with another good deal:

MSI B450 Mortar Max for $129

      • I'm new to computer stuff, is there any downside to having a mATX motherboard in a full size case? I want to reuse my h440 case.

        • +1

No downside other than aesthetics of having a lot of empty space around the motherboard.

        • Doesn't look as good, but that's about it. Not many reasons for the full ATX board functionality wise until you're getting into much higher end hardware than this.

And I'd rather not support serial price jacker

      • +10

Futu Online and Shopping Express are the same company.

          • @yomama: but cheaper is cheaper though no?

            • @zorrt: If you're buying just the CPU then yes,
In my case it's cheaper for me to get the mobo & cpu together

          • @yomama: No it doesn't. If it's the same owner then you're helping the owner of the company that price jacks by buying this deal. But I suspect you already know that and can't accept it because that would require you to make an embarrassing concession.

            • @xyron: Concession of what exactly?

If I'm the owner and saw that my company that does not price jack its making more money that the one that price jack… what do you think I would do?

              • @yomama: Of the fact that you said you'd rather support Shopping Express rather than Futu because SE doesn't price jack… Only to have egg on your face when told that they're both the same company, so supporting one over the other makes no difference, you're supporting price jacking practices by adding to the profits of the same company that engages in price jacking.

Of course you realise this, and you continue to be obtuse. Not really surprising or uncommon. Readers will come to their own conclusions.

          • @yomama: Futu Online and Shopping Express indeed are the same company with same ABN. According to Mod scrimshaw

In case you don't know, Futu online is owned by Kai Seng computers (KS Computers) which also operates Shopping Express, as well as Shallothead. https://abr.business.gov.au/AbnHistory/View?id=83095108777

My invoices from Futu Online have Kai Seng Computer Solution Pty Ltd printed, with the address Unit 6B, 69 O'Riordan, Alexandria NSW 2015, which is the Shopping Express business address.

The packages are usually marked Academic It Market. KS Computers is based in Auburn(connectonline.asic.gov.au).

  • I bought this at the end of December for 288 + shipping

Just to warn you: my ebay plus order(ryzen 9 3900x for $599 after ebay plus) with Futu online, has not been shipped after 14 days, and after I click take action, they "refund" me, and a few days later I received a email from Paypal saying they don't have enough fund in their bank account to proceed my refund.

Until today my refund still haven't gone thru yet.
