But did you book a session?

        • "Voucher can be redeemed online at villagecinemas.com.au or at the TICKET BOX"

Just go to the ticket box and redeem your vouchers there instead of paying the booking fees on their website.

          • @Kista: Modern (10yrs ago) convenience gone

          • @Kista: My point is the booking fee has nothing to do with buying the vouchers, as you implied.

    • +1

Doesn't apply for walk in sales I don't think. Still enjoying but yeah.

    • Also part of the promo:

$50 Gold Class Meal Combo eVouchers

      WHAT YOU GET:
1 x discount Gold Class ticket
      1 x Welcome Drink
1 x Gold Class food menu item

      Booking fee is a scam

once you go to Hoyts (or Readings Cinema) and have the reclining chairs, Village feels so archaic

    • Yes! and get the complimentary popcorn and soft drink!

      • Where do you get that?

      • +2

I googled the complimentary popcorn and soft drink at Hoyts and I found it's only available at Hoyts Lux. Is this what you are referring to? Hoyts Lux is like $39 a ticket (or something along those lines) - which is pricier than this deal (and buying a small popcorn/soft drink)

I'm pretty sure Supasaiyan was referring to the reclining chairs that normal Hoyts now offer (for example at Docklands, Vic).

      • To clarify - Hoyts Lux > Event Cinema Gold Class

      • Only in Hoyts Lux

    • I go to Jam Factory in South Yarra and their Gold Class has recliners?

    • The village gold class I go to has electronic recliners….

      • +8

I think Supasaiyan is referring to Hoyts now having reclining chairs at their normal screening (example: Docklands, Vic)

        • +5

Yep.. pretty much all the Hoyts I've been to, have reclining seats. Also, the new Readings cinema at Burwood (in Melbourne), has a little table AS well as reclining seats

    • Hard agree!

  • & Albury in NSW

  • Thanks OP. Just loaded the Village website. Was reading after a few moments the screen disappeared. Came here to see if anyone had posted and you had delivered the goods.

Thanks OP - only keen on Bloodshot, being released on 12/03/20.

  • Wish it was for this week.

  • There’s only 1 Event cinema in Melbourne and that’s moonlight cinema :(

    • +1

Can be used on Village Cinemas as well.

      • Awesome yes I just got the email!
But wait.. did the title change?
Where did I get Event Cinemas from??

        • +3

Two different deals, people are mixing up

  • +1

Good deal without the limitations on Gold Class for Sat/Sun etc - but only 1 month (4 weekends). If they do actually sell a few of these it wouldnt surprise me that there will be some unhappy customers not able to redeem them on the peak periods.

  • +1

Any good movies coming out during this period?

    • +1

      Sonic the Hedgehog.

Personal opinion, after I turn off all critical thinking before watching it.

    • 1917, Birds of Prey (ok film, but it’ll be nice in the theatres)

  • +1

It says vpremium have surcharges - couldn't google anything about it ! Anyone !?

    • +1

I think it’s generally around $3-4 more on top

  • can voucher be used on V-Junior without extra charge?

  • Great deals, when will village upgrade their cinemas to match with Hoyts tho….

  • "Not valid for group bookings". Does that mean I can't book for 3 people in one session right?

    • Yeah. You would have to do 1 person per booking.

    • I'm not sure, but I would take that as an organised group - like a school group or something. I'm sure 3 would be fine.

  • Does the system actually enforce the 24 hour limit?

    • I think it's a more "just in case something goes wrong give it 24 hours". I bought 3 tickets last night (with the intent on using them this evening) and the tickets came through straight away.

      • It says the tickets are not valid until the 17th. So you won't be able to use them today I think.

        • You're right! Argh last time I look at a bargain when I'm tired. Thanks for the heads up, I'll use them next week =)

  • Is it not working for anyone else?

I put in my payment info and it just keeps doing the 3 loading dots for several minutes…

    • apparently expires tomorrow Wed 19th, according to email yesterday. so should work

      • Seemed to be an internet issue. Tried on my phone with mobile data and it worked.

  • Expired? Says 27 days left.

    • Error 404 when trying to load the page.
