[Pricing Error] Penrite Enviro+ 5W-30 5L Engine Oil- EPLUS5W30005 $39 @ Repco

Moved to Forum: Original Link

The Repco website says 30% off @ $62.99 was $91.99 but went instore and there was a price tag $39. There was only 1 left but more was coming in tomorrow, so I got it at $39 and went to supercheap auto and pricematch it. The guy at supercheap tried to give me $1 discount from the sale price of the website :( till i told him i got it for $39 and showed him the receipt. Anyway manage to get it for $39 so think its a price error? So damn cheap

Do you have any evidence to back up this claim??

A copy of the receipt perhaps? Maybe even a photo of the price tag?

Otherwise, the best price is $62.99 so your title is wrong.

  • Receipt?

    • sure give me a few mins

  • Done so 2 photo, one at Repco and the other is price match at super cheap auto

  • Any proof? Did they give it to you for $39 because the price tag said that, or because it actually scanned up as that?

    • yeh upload 2 pics. turn out to be 57% off website was 30%

    • both price tag and scan both at $39

Tried the store in Richmond VIC and no deal. Scans at $63. Showed receipt and they believe it was one of the IT errors they had online yesterday. Said a few things were brought online at under cost. Price match at supercheap might be the next stop.

    • got this instore with that price tag only had one left till next day. The worker there kept trying to sell me the other brands :) at full price. Try the pricematch at supercheap

  • Just an fyi, the enviro+ range is designed for low suphur fuels; which Australia does not really have (even our premium is 'moderate' at best).

The only reason to use this oil, is if you have a diesel that requires low SAPS; however even then, 'normal oil' usually wont make your dpf regeneraat noticably more often, unless your engine is high enough k's that you're getting noticable blowby.

    • :) the internet tell me I need this oil for my Audi S5…. the internet is always right

I'd be surprised if anyone else got this deal given the current price at Repco.

  • Scanned at the $62.99 online price at my local store and she wouldn't match the $39, said all stores should be the same so that particular store have probably marked it wrong

    • yeh I was really surprise to see the $39 price tag on it as I was going to buy it @ $62 and then it scanned at $39 as well. The worker there didn't seem happy when I got this as he was trying to push me to buy the other brand at full price. Supercheap Auto was surprise at this price as well but he done it.

Croydon NSW store scanned at $63.

  • For euro cars such as VW can we use any VW specd fully synthetic 5w-40 instead of using this recommended oil?

    • Its hard to say if we don't know the model, year, and type of engine your car have. An easy way to find out just go to Repco/Supercheap website and set you car. Go to oil 5w30/40 and click "next" till you find the same model/yr and engine type. You should just stick to the same oil that's in your manual, the 40 is better for those people that like to race and like to drive aggressively as it's better in hotter condition.

  • I bought this a couple of weeks back at Supercheap Auto for under $35, so I'd say it's somewhat common for this product to go lower in price.

    • are you sure its not the enviro+ GF5? this one retail price at $90 at supercheap and the gf5 is $57

Hmmm good point. Yes, I think I bought the GF5.

  • As this is a one-off pricing error at a particular Repco store and the price match is the price match of the pricing error, it will not be obtainable by others and will be moved to forums.
