Not for S20 . . Only for the S20+ and Ultra

Galaxy Buds+ is the correct model

    • Still incorrect.. add s please :p

  • A pity these don't have noise cancelling.

    • +1

A pity pricing is so damn high on flagship phones now. My current S8+ is probably going to be the last flagship I buy.

      • IDK why people need flagships anyway.

Plus you get them on a plan so many don’t pay outright prices anyway. They just pay with a 2 year debt instead.

        • +3

Yeah I don't do the premium plans, I have a cheap Optus $30pm with Optus sport and plenty of gbs so I'm happy to keep that and buy a phone outright.

          • @[Deactivated]: It all works out the pretty much the same anyway

            • @cortex: If I paid $1600 for a phone it might but then I'd still be paying for it for 2 or 3 years.

            • +1

@cortex: Not any more. The plans from Telstra, Vodafone and Optus now ensure that you're paying out the base cost of the phone over a specific term (12, 24 or 36 months) plus their plan on top of it, which generally start at around $50 for any decent amount of data. Whereas you could purchase the phone outright (or wait for an eBay 10-20% off sale to get it cheaper), and go on a Kogan, Aldi or CatchConnect SIM for a lot cheaper per month. The difference being you're paying up front for all that (if you can afford it), versus paying more over a specific period.

              • @Trishool: If you are looking to save money then going with a cheap Kogan, Aldi etc. SIM and the S20 outright would be the way to go.

But considering the best deals you can find scouring OzB, usual EPPs seem to get you around 25-30% off at most. 50% off codes could be bought around this time and it would still work out cheaper overall.

  • Disappointed they didn't get into the ANC market

  • +1

If you have access Through EPP looks like a bonus wireless battery pack when you pre-order

    Pre-order the Galaxy S20 | S20+ | S20 Ultra to receive a bonus wireless battery pack worth $99 RRP*. Offer ends 05.03.20

Incidentally the 5G Ultra is $1599 through EPP, not a bad price and then using the $50 newsletter sign-up from the deal posted earlier $1549.

    • I checked EPP earlier and couldn't see them updated , have to check again later

    • $50 discount cant be applied to EPP purchases (as per its terms and conditions)

      • +1

Through this deal the $50 is valid for EPP
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/514488

        • EPP is looking good for these phones - Any idea if the free Galaxy Buds apply to EPP purchases?

ie does that count as "Samsung Online Store" ?

          • +1

@senorclean: No, you get a wireless battery pack instead

            • @otter-raptor: Are you sure they don't stack?

              • @Broombroom: Interesting they've changed the terms to include both epp and education (initial didnt have education)

"b) “Samsung Online Store” means any online portal operated by Samsung in Australia through which eligible
consumers or businesses can purchase the Participating Products, including Samsung’s e-store in Australia
(accessible at the URL https://shop.samsung.com/au) and the Samsung Education Store.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Samsung Online Store excludes the website known as the ‘Samsung Staff Portal’
and the websites known as ‘Samsung Enhanced Partner Portal’"

                • @Broombroom: You could still possible save more off using their partner site, as you could possibly use the 50% off EPP codes that could be sold soon.

It would certainly save you a significant amount more then just the headphones and regular EPP alone.

              • @Broombroom: When they had the buds redemption for note during November they honoured the bids. But I think they've learned from that mistake and added this as a redemption , have to try though

  • Finally, 16gb on a phone.

      Finally, $2249 for a phone

Not the first well over $2k….

      • iPhone XS MAX 512GB is $2369 not to mention the Galaxy Fold was around $2800

    • Serious question - I have an iPhone X - no idea how much RAM it has but what I do know is that it runs every single app I download from graphic editing to video editing, games or anything else…. I have literally hundreds of browser tabs open because I don’t bother closing them, and most apps are open also…so why exactly do I need more RAM? (or 16GB) if everything works perfectly. Like I said, serious question… which I assume is answered by the fact that this is ‘android’.. but still curious.

Optus for the ultra with 100g data plan over 12 months, $250pm….

    OzRobbery

    • It's a two thousand dollar phone. Do you want the plan for free?

      • That's still $3k….

If you wanna pay $1k for a 12 month Optus plan…

        • Optus Large plan 200gb - $59
          20 Ultra over 12 months - $166.56
          Total $225/m over 12 months.

I'm confused where Bretto's figures have come from?

    • I'm sure plenty will fall for it lol

    • Then span it over 2 or 3 years. Those options exist too.

  • Ear buds+ are available for purchase but the shipping date isn't clear - does anyone know what date they go on sale?

  • What's the best place to preorder? Samsung online or JB?

    • Telstra

      • You could certainly order from Samsung and possibly source a 50% off EPP code from around OzB that could be used in conjunction with the order.

Would definitely find save yourself a fair bit more than from JB.

    • +1

Absolute lowest price would be using someone's 50% off code. Even after factoring a few hundred to buy the code, it'll still easily be at least $100 cheaper if not more depending on the model you get.

The only 'downside' is you won't get the galaxy buds, however considering the amount saved, you could easily just buy them separately and still come out ahead had you pre-ordered from a usual store.

  • I'm trying to enter in my IMEI number but it keeps stating "Invalid SN/IMEI". Did anyone try and claim it yet?

    • Same issue. I suspect they have not uploaded the whole IMEI database.

      • +1

It seems to be accepting my IMEIs now.
