Glorious Model O Glossy White/Black $69 + Delivery @ PCCG

100

Been wanting to try this mouse since reviews of it exploded last year. But seeing it was $49 in US and $89 here I just never made the leap to buy one as my mouse was working great.

Just saw this price at PCCG and decided it was cheap enough to try it out.

Reviews from last year all claim its the best mouse ever made.

Im interested, but have any reviews touched on if the holes collect dead skin, dust and gunk?

    • It must. Probably need pressurised air every now and again.

    • There's holes in the bottom of the mouse as well, any crap that gets in their would assumably just fall out the bottom.

    • You'd have to hope someone did a longterm review of it. But even then everyone on youtube is perfect beings who don't sweat and don't goto the bathroom right?

I have pretty sweaty hands and know my mice tend to gunk up after longterm use. So this will probably be the same, but with all those holes it should be easy to just airblast all of it out?

      • I have the matte mouse and i have sweaty hands. sweat tends to form solid gunk at the areas with the most pressure and it lightly forms gunk at the edge if the holes. I cleaned it with wet q tips and used a brush afterwards. Make sure you wash your hands regularly.

    • Good idea to cover it over night so dust doesn't settle into as well

    • I owned my Model O since release day. Last night I cleaned it out (for the 1st time) by drenching it with IsoAlco and compressed air. I think if you have access to compressed air, it would be fine to just blow it one a month to keep it fresh. Looks new again.

  • I've been tempted to swap to this from my Razer DeathAdder since it seems like all the hype is around it at the moment. Anyone used one and got any feedback?

  • If you are like me and prefer the matte coating then you can order directly from Glorious for $88 AUD delivered ($4 more then this deal.

    • The matte version is two grams lighter.

    • Heh, those look pretty convincing. Honestly they prob are from the same factory in China.

      • the sensor is different though, although that sensor looks decent too

also i don't get how the selling point for this is weight, i have this mouse that literally has 2 metal bars inside to add weight, without which it's so light…

        • Not sure why you got negged. Anyway, I much prefer a lighter mouse, especially for FPS. I find I flick a lot more than track when aiming and a lighter mouse helps with that, on top of having a claw grip as well as aiming with a wrist.

          • @ShinK0: oh i agree with that, my point is that mice are by default light, in fact some of the lightest mice are also the cheapest, because they save on material cost, its not like its some amazing feet of engineering.

there just seems to be hordes of angry downvoters these days, interesting times…

            • @abctoz: Ahh true! I see your point.. Both of them. =P

    • Good reviews, though I see he is VERY partial to light mice, which I guess is all the hype right now anyways.

I remember I used to add weights in my Logitech G5 mouse, so it was heavier and had a hefty feel.

      • RJN plays quake a lot, which is a game that benefits a lot from flicking the mouse around a lot. He also seems to play a lot of instagib modes which don't require a lot of constant player tracking and recoil adjustment, this is where fine control is lost in his reviews I feel. Unfortunately quake is not a popular game anymore, it's your COD/CSGO military style shooters where recoil control and player tracking are important.

This review from optimum tech backs up my experience with ultra light mice, I feel a 70-80g mouse with high quality clicks and build quality/shape is perfect for the average gamer who plays a variety of games that need quick flicks and fine aiming control.

In my experience going lighter compromises on body rigidity and quality, the buttons flex/wobble and you get flex in the shell which means you feel mushyness. Also it's a lot harder to do fine adjustments because you end up overshooting a little.

Seems dumb to put RGB on a mouse that's trying to be lightest …

  • I would advise against this mouse, the QC is pretty terrible. Had an issue where the scroll wheel rubber surface stopped adhering to the plastic part so it slid around instead of scrolling. This was after only 2 months of use.

  • Have this mouse and would recommend. I liked my G502 but this mouse is so much lighter and more agile. Nice to hold and you dont sweat as much due to the honeycomb holes. My aim has imprved significantly but u need to run it in and get use to it for a week or two first

  • What about Model D, is it any better than Model O
