Cashrewards isn't 8% on spirits.
$150 - 8% isn't $142. However, Cashrewards says 5% on spirits, so after cashback it would be $142.50, so you were close. At 5%, you're better off buying with an eGift card and not getting cashback; same discount, without the worry that it won't track or the long time frame to get the cashback.
