So, now rumors are bargain? What's next, we're going to post everything from coles and woolies weekly catalogue? Oh wait. Never mind.

    • +3

Seems to be solid evidence going by this screenshot

    • -1

Ah one of the mod's favourite user, rumour thread will not be closed then.

If this is true, nice line up!

    • +1

      Rumours? This has been confirmed.

  • +9

    Should be on OzRumours

    • +15

      bold claim

    • +1

      Confirmed!

  • +1

Read that SoC is hell sad.. amazing but sad sad game. I'm going to pass on this one..

    • +3

More likely you will get angry / frustrated with the controls, especially in hard mode time attacks.
Don't get the sad sad bit, especially if you believed it is the prequel to Ico.

      • +2

I got frustrated with the control, and give up mid way. Not worth the hassle

        • +2

Same. Loved the game and the story and the atmosphere… but man, those controls. (fropanity) that…

        • +1

I would give it another shot.
I recently went from Uncharted 4 to replaying this game. Controls felt awful coming from such a modern game but after a few of colossi, you kind of get used to it. It's really a beautiful game.

          Edit: Didn't neg you btw

        • +1

Totally agree. The controls are so terrible I just gave up on it. Rage inducing stuff

          • @Brick Tamland: I reluctantly gave up on it after about the 5th colossus. Just couldn’t get a hand of the controls. I’d like to give it another crack though.

    • +2

It's not that sad. It's more like a sad tone rather than a sad story.
I really love the story and atmosphere of this game. As others have noted, controls are very clunky, PS2-era which have not aged well.
But I recommend it nevertheless, it's up there in my top 5 PS4 exclusives.

    • +2

Give it a try if it's free. It is sad but not a cry fest, more like enhanced melancholy. And it's incredible. One of those games everyone should play once.

  • Nice, good thing I didn't buy any of these woo!!!

  • Ign 9.7 I'll give it a go

  • +1

    Gozzip

  • This is going to hurt the resale value of my physical copy of Shadow of the Colossus

    • +1

Was it not on sale for like 17 at Target and a few others like a good year and change ago?

      • Possibly, it's likely not very valuable anyway but still, this isn't going to help

        • +3

Remake of a remake of a PS2 game never had resale value. No scarcity to be found.

          • @Valowick: No scarcity of any games these days since they're all available digitally. Except in the occasional case where they get removed from the digital stores due to expiry of licencing deals etc, in which case a physical copy might gain some value.

I suspect a copy of the original PS2 version would be worth more than the PS4 version, both because it isn't available digitally and also because, like Ico, it came in that beautiful cardboard packaging instead of the standard plastic DVD cases most PS2 games came in.

    • I bought a preowned copy of SoC at eb games for $14 last month?

  • -1

And last month PlayStation France or somebody leaked Crash Bandicoot Trilogy as the monthly game, how’d that go….

  • Sonic Forces was fine, just hella short. As a PS+ game, I'd say play it, but as a game I spent 40 odd bucks on day one. I mean, I've paid more for less, it was just crazy short.

    • +2

How is this a spoiler? Did it ruin the story for you?

  • oh that's a good one! Though I already own SotC.

  • +2

No free vr game next month

    • Yet… Last month the VR addition was announced after the regular 2 PS4 games were. Hopefully they give us another VR title.

  • +2

    Not enough psvr games

  • Thanks~~

  • +5

Stop giving us games that were on Plus last gen. Been 3 months in a row!

  • +5

Shadow of the Colossus is one of the greatest games ever made. Essential. Although I'm not sure how many people wouldn't have already played it in one version or another (PS2 original / PS3 HD remaster / PS4 remake). PS4 version is certainly the best one, though, so well worth revisiting.

  • +1

    Agro!

    • Insert long whistle sound

  • This SotC remake is visually superb!
Remember people it’s not just a texture 4K update

  • I'm so glad I held off buying Shadow… can't wait to play it again!

  • Has okami ever been a ps plus game?
I thought to niche but if sotc can be, okami would be ok wouldn't it?

    • +1

I don't think so, no. Great game, though - one of that crop of really good games that made the last 2 years or so of the PS2 before the PS3 launch an absolute golden era. Not sure how well it has aged, though - I haven't tried the PS3 or PS4 versions.

      • Oh it's aged great imo

The jump in resolution does the cell shaded graphics a fantastic service
I just got done a mega play through.
Just missed out on platinum trophy too
        Have to play again

      • I'd say it's aged pretty well apart from the pacing.

I was super into it for 15 hours (first playthrough on the Switch version) and then felt a severe lack of motivation after defeating the supposed "final boss" yet only finding myself half way through. I understand you fight that boss one or two more times, but it completely killed my motivation for that run of the title.

        • Yeah, that's the main thing that stops me going back for the PS4 version and playing it again. I loved it on PS2 but found it too long then, and that would be even more the case now ~15 years later when I have less spare time than I had then.

Same problem I have with so many games these days - just too damn long.

    • +1

      Yes, the PS3 version.

    • Yeah, April 2013.

  • Seems a lot of love and hate for SOtC.

    Any opinions on Sonic Forces?

  • +2

If you haven't played shadow of the collosus don't get to hyped. Vastly overrated.

    • Just like Witcher 3.

      • +2

May I ask what you peeps consider to be good games?

Sotc and witcher 3 are classics

        • +1

I understand why people don't like SOTC. The barren world and limited objectives mixed with some weirdly specific and outdated mechanics (that specific column to bridge jump over water is the one part of the game I remember most for all the wrong reasons) could understandably make for an unenjoyable experience for a lot of players.

I still personally enjoyed it and played through to the end, but I kinda felt glad it was done by that point. Definitely didn't dislike it though.

      • What made you not like Witcher 3?

I'm 45ish hours in on the worst version (Switch) and loving the characters, world building and story.

First RPG I've played for this amount of time (usually I'm very impatient with long story based games) and possibly the most immersive world I've played in. I care about the state of the political environment. I care about the main characters. I feel like the morality of my choices matter.

Despite my positive bias, I'm genuinely curious as to why you don't enjoy the game.

        • I didn't say Witcher 3 is bad, I only said it's vastly overrated. I had high expectations for Witcher 3 but I lost interest / got kinda bored after playing it for a few weeks and I don't have the time to play story-rich games. 'Good' games differ for each person so I don't want to suggest people what to play. Any decently-rated game can potentially be a good game. Sorry if I sound kinda vague.

          • +1

@El Psy Kongroo: It sounds like it's not overrated, it just didn't meet your specific expectations.

            • -1

@Ninternet: Yeah, a bit of both.

              • @El Psy Kongroo: How do you define "overrated" if not entirely subjectively?

                • @Ninternet: I guess we can find the definition on the English dictionary? Tbf I don't even care if people say bad things about games I like because it's all subjective. Under different circumstances I'll probably hate games that I used to enjoy and vice versa. If I say life is overrated, will YOU be ok with it? Not that I care what you say tbh.

    • +2

      I disagree.

Might not be a game for everyone, it is a bit on the "artsy fartsy" side, but I loved it.

The colossi are so well designed and looked amazing (especially now in 4k) and they were fun to fight.

Climbing controls can be a bit finnicky but I really enjoyed the game.

Especially for free, it's one that everyone should at least try out.

    • I enjoyed my time with SotC (first playthrough on PS4), but felt a little burnt out by the end due to the empty world. Still think it's a very good game and I can definitely appreciate its value as a piece of art and especially the importance it had for the time it was first released.

  • Nice

  • If I want those games but not February's do I sign up this month or next month?

I.e. do I need to be signed up when the month ticks over to get?

    • +1

No, just sign up any time during the month. Just remember you have to actually go to the store and "buy" them (for $0) - you don't just get them automatically added to your account just because you're subscribed.

      • Thanks for that mate. I was looking for this info on google but was struggling.

  • +1

Lucky I forgot to buy SOTC in the cart when it was on sales couple weeks ago!!!
