Why 16oz?
That's like asking if more weight is better..
They are a heavier glove, works your arms better.
@Damonator84: Heavier gloves will work your arms harder (and allow you to hit harder), but given they're physically bigger, you're less likely to make a tight fist on impact with a bag/pad which isn't good for your hand. Also - again as these gloves are bigger - when you fatigue you're going to strike a bag/pad when a smaller glove (i.e. competition glove) or your bare hand wouldn't, so in that sense your not getting proper feedback (i.e. you're punches are less likely to miss).
Just some food for thought.
