Cost for a Plasterer

Hi, does anyone know how much a plasterer charges please? I have 5 power point holes in a wall and the holes from 4 speakers on my ceiling to be patched and plastered.
A friend's son is doing it and I would like to pay him. Although he is a qualified plasterer, he no longer works in the field, just does odd jobs for the family.
So any suggestions on what I should offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Beer and Pizza…

  • This is probably more of DIY job, so don't go paying tradie rates to your friend. Youtube will see you get the whole job done in under an hour, and <$20 materials.

But if i had to pay someone — maybe $50?

edit: i've assumed they're gyprock walls.

    $200

  • Ask the father or the son?

  • He didn't quote you?

$50 ph would be fair - that would cover time and materials

    • This, don't be one of those people who expect everything for next to nothing. The guy could probably be earning at least this rate by working elsewhere.

$50p/h is bang on the money. With a 2hr minimum charge. $100 should cover it.

  • $100

You should pay at least a day laborer wage, which is $300 a day.

Thanks for everyone's input. It's taken 50 mins to plaster and the use of his materials. Coming back to sand in a couple of days. So I will see what he says. I just didn't want to be taking advantage of my friends son.

    • You may be simply you but don't change : you're a good bloke .

If I cant be stuffed and got someone else to do it, I'd be happy to pay $200 for the 5 holes if done well (ie. Seamless save the paint).

Enough beer to get him plastered.

  • A slab - don't tradies on the slab bartering system?

  • Some good plasterers won't come out for less than a $300 job.

I would offer $100 and a couple of beverages. He wouldn't take the money but would most definitely get plastered on the free beverages.I would have to drive him home and we would call it even.

    • plastered

      Excuse the pun

      • No excuse required. Pun was intentional:D
