Goddamn $1K for a 6 year old used laptop with a 4th gen CPU.
That is a disastrous deal and I hope no one is buying this!

      • My 7 year old iMac at work still produces great professional video and VR creation. They are still good for something. Though it does have 16GB of ram.

        • That's got desktop-class CPU and graphics though

Why on earth is this being upvoted. This is from 2014! A fourth generation CPU is absolutely stone age.

    Absolutely crap deal.

$999 for a Haswell processor? People are really desperate to get a piece of the Apple pie.

4GB RAM in 2020. I hope whoever purchases is not planning to install Google Chrome!

    ~1k for a 2014 laptop - yeah nah, not a deal.

Why buy a second-hand and outdated apple product when you could get a brand new and faster windows machine for the same or even less money. I guess it's all about the status that comes with it. Apple fanboys never cease to amaze me

    • unix os is good for devs

      • Plus one can enjoy all the Intel security holes, which are OS agnostic, from Haswell onwards.

You know you can install Linux on a "Windows" machine as well.

I use both Windows and macOS, I prefer the latter and happy to pay a premium for the pleasure. Couldn't care less if there was an Apple logo on the back of the screen so people know what I'm using, would happily run a hackintosh if it could be set and forget with everything working as it should (they're getting much better though). I want the OS I enjoy the most. We each have our preferences and we should respect that.

Having said that, I could not recommend this deal, I just don't see the value in this "deal"

On the plus side, it’s so old it won’t have the butterfly keyboard

  • No deal.

Thanks OP, this will go nicely with my DeLorean..

  • maybe buy and keep it prestine for another 20 years, maybe can sold more as antique

    • Wouldn’t need to wait…

    • keep it pristine

      It's used mate…

  • but for $999 what a deal!

    Is this a joke?

  • Really? For a thousand dollars, you can do a lot better!

Wellllllllllllll….Awkward, guess I was sucked in by the banner in the email 😂🤦🏼‍♂️! FYI didn’t purchase one… thought it might’ve been a deal for someone 🤷‍♂️

  • With all due respect but that's not good at all. I bought and sold a better specced 2015 version for less.
