NSW Driver Licence Verification Failed with Middle Name

Hi,

So I recently found this to be a common problem when trying to verify something (such as Prepaid Mobile, and Bank) that requires a Driver Licence and you have a middle name. I don't have a middle name (Xe Ze) and every single verification I do with my drivers licence works flawlessly.

However, my aunt, my girlfriend, my mum have middle names and I can never get their drivers licence verification to work. I was wondering if anyone have a solution to this. This is what I've tried so far:

Name - Ze Ye Xe Ve
1. FN: Ze | MN: Ye Xe | LN: Ve - FAILED
2. FN: Ze Ye Xe | LN: Ve - FAILED
3. FN: Ze Ye | MN: Xe | LN: Ve - FAILED

Any ideas?

I've got locked after trying 3 times trying to activate a sim. Getting annoyed with this problem so I thought I would ask.

(P.S Those names are real :))

    Likely an issue with groupings.

Maybe go to a Service NSW centre and just ask if they grouped the First Name, Middle Name and Last Name correctly into the system.

    • They were the least helpful bunch of people. They just said the first part is your first name, the two in the middle is middle and the last if your last name. And they said that its the verification fault not the driver licence or name etc.

    • I've never had to use my middle name for any verification. I would check this to make sure that the rms hasn't created a double barrelled name by mistake in that somewhere

edit: how do you know its the names that are messing verification up and not license number or something?

      • Cause i've tried it on 3 people with middle names and none of them work. I also done 2 non-middle names and they work flawlessly.

What do you mean by double barrelled name?

        • double barrelled name?

          Hyphenated.

Mr Double Barrelled vs Mr Double-Barrelled. (Title/First/Last vs Title/Last)

You also get things like Mr Van Morrision vs Mr van Morrison. (Again Title/First/Last vs Title/Last)

Take up programming, it's fun they said…

  • Are they on the electoral roll?

If so, you can double check the the last name is grouped correctly through checking their enrollment

    • But it only has GIVEN NAMES and FAMILY NAME. No middle name section

      • They group the first name and middle name together. It won't help you with double checking the middle name, but at least you can double check the last name.

  • I dare say it's the "2 middle names" causing the issue.

    • Could be :L Such a pain.

  • Try ZE XEXE VE

  • I wonder if its worth logging into the service nsw drivers licence app or the RMS website, you might be able to see how your name is written on the website and possibly how its grouped together.

  • Not in NSW but I recently did a verification and only used middle initial. That worked for me but YMMV.

  • I think you do not have to enter middle name. Enter Only first and last name…
