  • Pulled the trigger. Thanks, OP!

  • Bugger, if only it was for a recharge as well :(

    • You can port out to Telstra n back to Catch

      • +1
      • I actually got this 90day deal just last month biding time so as to get back on a long expiry deal

      • Would it cause issues doing a b2b port in the same day? Particularly if one has no credit on one sim…

        • This is definitely possible after you have ordered the Telstra and Catch Connect SIMs. After you have the SIMs you should be able to then complete the transfer out from Catch to Telstra and then back to Catch in a day. I have done this many times and usually only have the service activate with Telstra for 30 min to an hour and then transfer straight back to Catch.

  • What's a new customer?

    • +1

I’d be keen to know this - is a port in considered new if I’ve bought a Catch SIM through shopback before?

      • similarly is a port considered new if i haven't had a Catch SIM before? not sure if 'new service' implies a new number

        • Yes.

        • +2

          New = New email address.
Port = Fine if from different supplier and as per above is new email address.
So, your Name, Address, ID, DOB, Payment Method is fine to be the same as a previous Catch Account.

      • Yes. All you need is to sign up to Catch Connect with a new email address although someone below says you should be able to use the same email address but I have never tried to do this.

        • I believe this may be the case if your account has been deleted after a long period of time (not sure if 180 days or a year)?
Best check with them or another way would be to try log in using existing email address to see if it still exists on their systems. If account not found, the shouod be fine.

          • @Borg: I did it yesterday with a new email but exact same name & d.o.b as another account and it worked.

    • New email address.

  • Been with em months ago

    • Did you use the same account or create a new one?

  • +1

I've been with Catch before but have ported out to Kogan, AmaySim, Vodafone and so on. Would I be considered a new customer if I port back to Catch with my same old email?

    • Yes. I moved from catch to kogan, some months later back to catch using the same email address, it was all fine. Although catch do not delete your account even you have ported out. This is same as amaysim as they also do not let you delete the account after port out. Using the previous email address is fine. But I am not sure the impact it may have on cashback.

  • Dammit I bought the $15 Kogan deal just last night…

  • +1

If only these catch and kogan deals had telstra network, I would hop on their bandwagons

    • What's it matter though? It's only a temporary fix….. If you're signing up for a 2 year deal well no…. $5 or so a month, I don't care if my service is not as good as Telstra….

      • Some areas of Australia still only have Telstra reception.

  • Was this during the flash sale or still current? I can't seem to find the deal listed on the cashback details explicitly on shopback.

    • +2

under "Cashback Rates" section on the left,
      90 Day Plan (60GB) $10.00

  • I purchased 4 catch sims last deal, I won't be holding breath for them to give cash back on the date.

My only real cashback issues have been with them.

Still waiting on a Catch Xmas gift cashback I purchased which has delayed, says their working on it….

Seems a little poor by Catch. I know Cashrewards isn't to blame.

  • How long is shipping to nsw?

    • +3

Should be a few days, maybe 2 as it's in the same state (I think).
In Qld it's generally 3 business days - has been 3-4 in the past
Their return PO Box is in Botany, NSW 1455

      • amazing - Thanks!

  • +3

Do we know when does this end?

    • They often seem to end at midnight on the day they're posted. There's no guarantee it will still be available an hour from now.

  • I bought one in January via CR. It didn't track despite the click history, so had to manually raise it with them.
I suspect this is standard fare for Catch and they wouldn't want to pay out.
I might give this one a go - $5 for 90days is great value, $15 is still okay (except Optus network which is quite poor where I travel)

    • I’ve bought 2 from CR in the past and both tracked automatically and I also got the money within specified time. No issues and very happy. Ymmv…

  • Does anyone know if this cashback is 1 per Shopback account or there’s no limit? I want to buy 3 If the I can get cashback a on all 3.

    • I bought 2 sims in 2019 with same ShopBack account in 2 separate transactions. Cash back tracked no problem.

  • +2

Great deal, though I’ve never bought this off Shopback before. No issues with CR. Also very happy with Catch’s Optus network. I have generally gotten better speeds and more reliable connections than Kogans Vodafone.

  • Thanks OP! Just in time, my telstra plan is expiring in a week. Will get this until a better plan comes.

  • Will you number still be active after 90 days with no credit/ no recharge?

    • For 90 days after existing credit expires I believe and then gets returned to the market if not topped up.

  • I did this and it gave 14 cents cash back?

  • Free International calls to 32 countries are not included anymore, Extra needed.

  • Anyone had any experience with activating after 30 days?

    • Got the letter and it says you have to activate within 365 days.

      • +1

I have the letter in front of me dated 10th Feb from the CR deal - says it needs to be activated within 30 days to get the benefits of the promotion. If not activated within 24 mths it's cancelled and any associated credit is lost.

        • My letter says the same but it is very confusing

    • Why would you want to miss out on $10 cashback… That's the whole point of this Deal!!
Read ShopBack condition: must be activated within 30d!

      • Yeah?! Ok!! No problem!!
        Just checking!
        !!

        • There is a big difference between successfully activating SIM after 30d
          * with the included benefit with Catch Connect
          & the more difficult
          * successfully receiving the $10 cashback - which is against SB t&c! (Acknowledged in comment under your linked comment. They didn't get cashback.)

You should be able to buy the SIM later when you want to activate it, just the cashback may be less then.

The 90d Catch Connect SIM for around $15 is a pretty regular Deal. Often $5 cashback.

Much better than buying now, activating later than 30 days & getting no cashback!

  • Just in time, my 90 days at Kogan ends in 30 days.

  • Great deal, thanks OP! My 90 day Kogan deal expires in a few weeks so this is perfect and great value. Tracked within minutes no issues.

  • Catch Connect has emailed me "SPECIAL NOTE FROM CATCH TEAM. Action needed by you.
We need you to re-supply your credit/debit card details by 31st March 2020." Hoping that if I do not update my details, all my accounts will closed and I get to reuse those emails again lol.

    • +1

Doesn't mean your account will Auto Close. Just means no method of adding Credit. You need to call them and request removal/deletion of the account.
The associated mobile number I believe will AUTO Delete after 90 days (Used to be 180 or was it 365 days).
As for one's account. It still remain there. I called and asked them to Delete the Mobile number (as it had expired). My account still exists though as I can still login using the email address so will need to call them again to remove it as well.

EDIT: I contacted them via CHAT Screen, gave them a list of my accounts and requested that they be deleted.
The will let the technical support team know and once complete an email is sent to you via the associated email for each account. The general time frame for this is between 24 to 48 hours. NB: There cannot be any ACTIVE number on the account so they need clearing first. Best call them first to delete the number from the account. They will need Auth and ask for your Name, Address etc for each account. Not something I would give over a CHAT session.

      • Thanks for info and the update. I will wait until 31 March to see what they do to my accounts, right now I can't even see my dashboard without resupplying my card details.

      • CConnect have changed the co that process their card payments so require you to re enter your cc details online.
No great effort involved, all good.

    • How old are your accounts? Do you have some from a long time ago?

I've only signed up to catchconnect within the past few months and haven't reached the 90 days cutoff. Is it supposed to delete your account and that the person below's (borg) wasn't deleted because they did a manual request; or are the accounts still active?

If so, what details are still inside the account? Is there anything meaningful left?

      • Some numbers are more than a year old, old expired accounts are still shown as "Expired", but with no details left.

  • I just use new email address

  • +2

Looks like the deal has expired. Shows $5 Cashback.

  • Expired, just about to purchase today.

    • Cash rewards still $8 cashback.

  • Anyone know if Catch has the missed call service that Optus has where they send you an MMS with an audio recording of the message?
