Schick Hydro 5 Sense Hydrate With Coconut Oil 8 pack $19 (RRP $38) @ Woolworths

180

Definitely a great price. I haven't been able to track the frequency of this deal (for the big pack) but I don't see it often.

Looks like I only bought 100 not 1000 sorry.
I bought them off eBay from some seller in Turkey a years ago. Don't go through them very quickly.

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Astra-Superior-Platinum-Double-E…

These are the type I bought, the Astra's were recommended to me.
$15.61 for 100 right now, but back when the exchange rate was decent it would be more like $10.

        • There's a reason they are cheap. Double edge safety razor blades are crap. You only get like 2 uses out of each blade and so you have to keep changing them.

However i used to use Gillette Fusion Proglide blades and a single razor blade would last almost a month.

So any how these Schick Hydro 5 blades would trump over those crap safety razor blades.

          • @hollykryten: How many times a week do you shave?

          • @hollykryten: Well maybe I'm doing it wrong but they last me a lot longer, more like 10-20 shaves I'm guessing.
Sounds like you need to change brands, there are heaps of different ones out there.

      • im scared of slicing my throat

    • Not 5 blades at each go though? Hydro 5 or Hydro 3 are named so for a reason.

Multi-blade razors are nothing more than mere marketing. You don't really need 5 blades at a time.

        • Totally agree.. but you can't deny a fact that it gives closer shave. Whether it makes any difference to one is for them to decide.

@virhlpool: I end up with a far closer shave with a DE razor (Merkur adjustable model) than I ever did with a multi blade razor. I use shaving oil (far better for my skin) and the multi blade things needed rinsed under a fast flowing tap every other stroke to keep it usable.

If you want to cut costs even further, use olive oil. The basil infused one smells wonderful (according to other people who's opinion matters to me).

    • Wet shaving is great.

    • Also stock up on bandaids while you're at it.
