Why the hell would this ever be $100 is what I dont understand.

    • +14

      …because hipsters

      • +1

ah yes of course! I did not think of that.

      • +1

I find it humorous people are still using hipsters as a punchline. Just graduated from hanging shit on emos I guess?

        • It’s what makes online nerds feel important, shitting on other groups.

          • +4

            @nikoris: That's ironic

            • @brendanm: No, THATS ironic

              • @nikoris: I didn't shit on any group, you did. Pointing out the irony of your statement is simply a fact.

                • @brendanm: Why are you examining how I said it and not what I said?
You wanna sound smart but what’s actually happening is you acting like an 8-year old replying ‘mirror’

                  • @nikoris: You are the one that made the statement mate. You disparaged an entire group, while saying that it's pathetic to disparage an entire group. That's the definition of irony. You are the one looking like an 8 year old, though only based on your level of understanding.

                    • @brendanm: Lol, so if a group disparages another group, I can’t say bad words for the first group because it automatically puts me in the same group.
                      Great ‘logic’
It’s like saying ‘I hate killers’ and you blaming me for being a hater. Lol

@nikoris: It's actually quite amusing how you don't understand what you said was ironic.

                        • -1

@brendanm: You insisting is more amusing.

                          • @nikoris: For the record Nikoris, your reply was the absolute definition of ironic man hahaha

Nice one, it seems that the two major criticisms of this are the cost and that its more tricky to clean. https://www.reddit.com/r/AeroPress/comments/5hqgll/cafflano_…
This deal takes care of the first one.

    • I can't even find a video on how to clean this thing. Hard pass.

This deal takes care of the first one.

…and mum can take care of the second!

  • Anyone recommend cheap grinder for this?

    • I have one of the rhino wares hand grinders - but theres a fair few from this same site https://alternativebrewing.com.au/product-category/coffee-gr…

doesnt look like theres much under $60 - seems to be the lowest really

    • I reckon grab a cheapo from Aliexpress or ebay or whatever for a $10 buck device.

    • +1

Define "cheap". They've got the Rhinoware hand grinder on sale for $67.90, which is a fair sight better than the $99 I paid for mine 6 years ago, but it's still going strong, grinding maybe 20-30 coffees a week.

      • grinding maybe 20-30 coffees a week.

        On a hand grinder?

        • +4

Morning ritual. Meditative and cathartic. Between the espresso pump kicking in and my grinding, it also serves double duty as my wife's alarm clock.

          • @Aeongrave:

grinding maybe 20-30 coffees a week.

            Morning ritual.

Are you drinking 3-4 coffees every morning?

            • +1

@NigelTufnel: My wife likes two coffees and I usually have one, occasionally two.

              • +1

@Aeongrave: And I think I'm a good man when my wife asks for a decaf (that I have to hand grind), instead of a standard from the electric grinder and I graciously agree.

            • @NigelTufnel: only when i'm well rested, otherwise it's 6-8

          • @Aeongrave: So you wake your wife with a morning grind?

        • +4

Any guy that's made it through their teenage years has developed the muscles and stamina to grind enough coffee to waken a sleeping netball team.

          • @banana365: lol, fine settings is intense, takes me 50 minutes for 80g of coffee beans. Medium setting though, 15 minutes.

      • +1

I've had the Rhioware and the Porlex Tall hand grinders. My new favourite is the Gefu hand grinder. The way the handle attaches to the body is brilliant. No slipping and no ware. I found with the Porlex the handle would bend out of shape after about a years use it would slip. And the Rhinoware one I had the ceramic crack on mine. Been using the Gefu for around 3 years now grinding about 3 or 4 doses a day.

    • Ebay, "manual coffee grinder " $15, looks and works just like the expensive ones if you ask me.

  • FYI the red colour is out of stock.

  • so tempted because it's cheap! but have a zero maintenance aeropress that is a lot more robust than this already, and sold the nanopresso because of fiddliness, even though it made a great 'espresso' style drink!

but $19.95! hmmmm. good find OP!

    • +2

I love my aeropress but figure this would be good for camping or travel. And it’s a bargain, sooo…. purchased

      • Have you tried cold brew?

  • thanks Op!, got one!

  • Is the taste better than a drip style ?

    • imo this looks like it'll defs do a poorer job brewing than an aeropress or drip.

  • +3

out of stock already.. save me $10..

    • Dammit it was checking out

    • +1

yup. i would have bought it and never used it over the aeropress or v60

  • I just completed literally 2 mins ago… bought 2

  • +1

I bought one a while back and have to say it's awesome for work and easily cleaned up after use. Great product.

    • $39.85 and not compact though

      • Yeah, but at $19.95, you're still waiting a long time for brew… so, why not brew at home and then take it on the go? Doesn't make sense.

  • The initially said max 2 per order, then reduced to 1 per order but still allowed us to order 2.
