  You know these were $298 (46mm Black) from Amazon AU brand new only a few weeks ago? So a refurb and limited warranty watch for ~$20 less, isn't that appealing.

  Anyone know if the 42mm LTE can function as a standalone watch phone? Or does it need to be connected to a phone to function?

    Yes it can. But you need to contact your telco about setting it up with your account so that they can join it to your same number. May cost extra (Telstra) per month..

  Word of warning to anyone still looking to buy one of these "refurbished" watches. I just received mine and I certainly wouldn't be saying this was a Grade A 9/10 product. It has multiple chips out of the bezel and a 6mm scratch on the watch face. Very disappointed and to me a blatant misrepresentation of the term refurbished. I'd have been okay with some light scratches on the bezel but this thing looks like it's been hit with a hammer! Picture for anyone interested and tempted to jump in - my recommendation - don't.

  Any eagle eye viewers might notice, as I just have, that I've been sent the Gear 3, not the Galaxy Watch R-800 that I ordered. I hope this is a simple error and the store come good and it's not an attempt to rip off the less tech savvy!

  Just to be fair, I wanted to close out my feedback on my issue above. Although initially annoyed that the Company wouldn't send my correct watch until the wrong one had been returned (I get the policy, but I was the one inconvenienced) I sent the watch back on Wednesday, they refunded my postage on Thursday and I had the correct watch (happy to say in really good condition) on Friday. Well done Phonebot, you redeemed yourselves and I'm happy to recommend and, if in a position to, buy from you again in the future.
