Fastway Claims Delivered but Can't Find Parcel

Bought something on ebay and the seller sent via fastway

According to the tracking was delivered with an auth to leave and left in the property.

It's not there.

Seller has walked away from it saying it's been delivered

I definately did not give the courier an auth to leave.

I've raised an ebay dispute…
Anybody else have similar experiences with fastway..

Fastway have a reputation of losing packages. I had a package that just got lost somewhere between onboard for delivery and my house. I put a claim through amex and got a refund, was quicker than going through paypal.

  • Ebay will be reluctant in helping as they are absolute puss nowdays. Keep pushing, I've had to do claims similar with dodgey sellers ect. Takes a long time, forget the seller in their stance it was closed. I do wish you luck though, let us know any updates.

If tracking shows the item has been delivered then eBay & PayPal will side with the seller and you have no recourse with them.

Should have added that as a large volume seller on eBay we will not use Fastway because they are totally unreliable

Fastway is shocking. I've always had problems with them.

Not had one positive Fastway experience. Would actually pay a bit more to choose another courier if I could

I had one package lost and they claimed there was an ATL. I know there wasn't as my wife stayed home that day to accept the package.

When I asked them for a copy of the ATL and photo of package at delivery door (as they said they took a photo), then there was a lot more phone calls and passing around internally from departments.

Fastway is the worst in my area.

The parcel got dumb outside of apartment complex which everyone has access to and got stolen, CCTV captured that the drive just went to the gate forge my signature and turn around.

They use the GPS tracking to prove they already delivered the package to the gate, even I provided the footage, they still in denial and do nothing.

however, the driver will now call my unit since then. If I know the seller use Fastway I will avoid at all cost.

  • OP Fair Trading to eBay is the way to go. They will refund you and seller will be out of pocket, then the seller will chase Fastway or not using them anymore.

My last Fastway delivery was put into my meter box!

Check yours if you have one accessible out the front.

Generally I've been using Fastway since 1994, and it has been mostly been positive. There are a few people in the network that are unreliable, dodgy etc. Fastway treat their drivers like $h!% and make it difficult for their franchised drivers to sell their runs, for what they want. Like all franchises, they keep taking more $, when the driver earns more.
Once a driver has been told that an address is ATL, it becomes automatic apparently. If someone does request ATL, I put a note requesting a pic for the POD, in case a missing article arises.
When you raise a claim through Fastway/Freightsafe, the process is painstakingly long. They ask for a copy of the Suppliers Invoice, as well as the customers invoice. Then they raise questions, as to why was it sold at this price?
Then they query this, that, blah blah blah, to the point most people will give up. Successful payment may take 6 months or more.
Couriers Please are not much better. TNT & startrack are probably the best, most reliable, given the shambles that Toll is in from, their CyberAttack 6 weeks ago. Of course, you can't beat Aussies Post, if you get a good rate.

Good luck, and I feel your pain, if you have to go through Freightsafe.

  • As long as stated delivered the seller is protected by Ebay and best move is to wear it . Of course Fastway can do a investigation but unlikely to get too far as check reviews .
You will waste your time doing any action .

  • Have you lodged a Missing parcel enquiry with Fastway?

It should appear at the bottom of the Fastway Tracking page.

You can also speak to your local driver

  • I have always wondered when parcels are left on door step, who wears the cost if it’s stolen.

I don’t understand the idea things can be “left in a secure location”

Recent Fastway experience: Purchased a $300 item from Amazon AU, fulfilled by Amazon US, delivered by Fastway. Item arrived in Australia quickly. Watched tracking, stayed home for delivery. Front door open, with security screen door closed. Wife said she heard something, walked to the door, parcel had been thrown onto the mat, door-bell not used, no knock. Luckily the wife's hearing is sharp, otherwise my parcel would have 'walked', as we have a lot of transient/short term parking in front of our place for the local cafes, beach etc.

  • It is now my usual SOP to ask e-tailers if they use Fastway before I purchase anything. My last order spent 2 months in their sorting centre and it's delivery within the SAME metro.

  • Had two parcels "lost" with FastWay. I actively will not purchase from a company if they use FastWay.

Both times the parcel was signature on delivery. I knew I would not be home when they arrived, so was expecting to be carded and then have to arrange to go to their depot (which is another whole saga). Instead I got an email saying the parcel had been sucessfully delivered. I rang FastWay immediately to ask "WTF" and they said it was signed for. I told them it was impossible as I was at work but they didnt care and refused to provide the POD.

I contacted the sender and lodged a complaint, and they advised they would send another item to me, and that they have insurance with FastWay so will be making a claim against them.

Turned out the driver had been signing for peoples parcels and just keeping them. Apparently this was known in FastWay but they didnt care. I was lucky the sender takes out insurance on all parcels, but I still will not buy anything from anyone who uses them.

  • Ebay came back as expected. To bad so sad.

I've lodged a lost parcel claim with fastway but don hold out much hope

I get no system is perfect but I worry what would happen if it an expensive item

  • glad im not alone. this exact scenario happened to me
the seller told me to take it up with fastway. still waiting for a response from them
