    RRP $499, today just $189.95

    Insta-neg.

Also $178.99 at Greeboxit, much better than crap of the day.

I'm no fan of COTD, but that's what the manufacturer quotes the RRP as: http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/pc-peripherals/monitor/le…

Of course it isn't the 'street' price which OzB would expect but this is what you would find in large brick and mortar stores before they apply their usual discounts when the model is brand new.

For me, I completely disregard the RRP but that's within range of the price people would be paying when it launched in stores.

Clearly, it's going to be EOL soon and Samsung are just making way for their next generation. RRP also helps you compare to the 2012 line-up to see what the 2011 is equivalent to.

COTD aren't setting the RRP or overstating it, they're just not telling you what everyone else is selling it for.

COTD aren't setting the RRP or overstating it

yet they are still conducting deceptive and misleading advertising…

        no surprises there…

        • +2

How is it misleading to quote an rrp?

        • +2

If noone (or a small percentage do) sells at the RRP what meaning/value is there to it when quoting a discount?

    • greenbox sux
you have to pay PICK UP fee for every item you buy.

    • +6

MLN played up the RRP strategy as well but they didn't get any negs for that. Negs are prob. more to do with COTD's poor customer service based on previous OzB feedback and a somewhat elitist user group frequenting the OzB forums.

    • Too bad Greenbox are run by arseholes…
      Still a dud alternative.

  • +2

I was waiting for someone to list this to see if the screen is any good for the price. Now I'll sit back and wait for comments.

  • Already a few offers here in ozbargain for the same monitor for less than $200.

  • +1

Its basically the same product (and also similar price) compared to the one from MLN (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/52024) except for some areas u have to pay 5 buck more.
Total price (including shipping cost): $199.9 - $204.9

    • Yeah just on that note, what's different between the two monitors?
I'm on my phone so researching is a bit onerous.

I've already ordered the MLN one, hope this isn't better or something. :(

  • cheaper at greenboxit as stated above

crap deal, wouldnt expect much more from COTD though..

  • Wow how elitist are we here at ozbargain? This is a good price compared to the likes of chain stores JB, Dick Smith etc…
I'm sure it's a little cheaper at little corner computer shops in other states (albeit $10 cheaper whoop whoop) but its a good price for a 24" LED monitor.

    62% OFF, Wowwww….

    • +6

MLN made exactly the same claim (quite prominantly as well). Did you neg them as well?

  • Unfortunately, No bargain here… :(

  • -5

Another inflated RRP to go off.. cmon

  • +7

Not sure what the general IQ is of people on ozbargain…but you do realise no matter what they say the RRP is it doesn't change the fact that its a good price for a 24" led monitor?

    • With crap customer service as well, lots of people on whirlpool have apparently waited over a month to receive stuff from CoTD. It's an okay price, you can get it for $179 at GreenBoxIT, or $197 delivered off eBay and you'll get it sent most likely on the same or next day.

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-BX2450-24-Wide-2ms-LED-Mo…

      • had fantastic customer service from them myself after I changed my mind on a purchase I made. I cant think of another online business who would have done what the did when they were under no obligation to do so.

        • +2

people are negging me for talking about my shopping experience? wow, this place has really changed.

        • More bullshit from crapoftheday

  • +3

been stung by cotd and NEVER buying anything from them again!!! Crap Customer service, delivery times and inflated RRP!

    • yeh
james packer has enough money already

      • Isn't that Cudo ?

  • +4

If you guys avoided reading the RRP you'd notice it is a good deal, get over it :P Everybody everywhere else does the exact same thing

  • +4

Wait so it's the SAME screen as the MLN deal which got over 94 votes, but CoTD does it a few days later, for up to $5 more and everyone starts hating on them? LOL.

    • +2

      So kinda "impulse hating"?

  • -2

    not again

    • +2

wow… thanks for that….. never realised
We're so lucky you commented….. we would never have known…..

  • negging.everyday price. COTD nowadays not to used to be like COTD years back where their price was bargain. Now they're established and selling like retail outlet

    • +2

      selling like retail outlet

I had always assumed it was a retail outlet……

  • Insta neg coz it is Crap Of The Day and yes 5 dollar is money (refer to mln deal)

  • MLN is epic fail therefore COTD +1

  • This is a trash deal as it has been cheaper (incl shipping) in 2-3 other places already. So sick of COTD "deals" polluting this site with their shady advertising practices. We all know where their site is if we feel like being ripped off, so no need to post their deals on here.

  • A deal from anyone but COTD. Their service is possibly the worst in the country and real 'deals' are few and far between. That's the truth, what of it?
