  • Good Monitor
I have the BX2350 so this should be the same thing but slightly bigger screen.

  • wow cheap free shipping also to Sydney?

Spec say with DVI but from the photo cannot see it?

    • Seems 2 HDMI & 1 D-Sub, no DVI

    • from Samsung site

      Signal Input
      Analog RGB/DVI/HDMI Video Signals
Separate H/V/ Composite/ SOG Sync Signals
      D-Sub/ HDMI x 2 (Audio out) inputs

      • yeah signals only, you'll need a HDMI to DVI converter… easily done.

  • Would this go alright playing a PS3 on?

    • I got this monitor myself and use it with Ps3, its awesome cause you can just cycle between PC display and HDMI.

  • 39 bux cheaper than the next cheapest on static ice (20%) not bad at all, specially with the free shipping.

  • absolute bargain!

  • how much were the LED FHD 24" monitors on sale from other retailers? I remember i saw an Asus and Sammy and Acer posted here for around the $150 mark (i know different models, different quality and different specs, but just curious to see how low LED monitors have dropped

  • is this good as a graphic design monitor or should one stick with Dell ultrasharp for that

    • +1

      Guys
      I personally use this monitor,
it rocks, nothing else to say, much better than the other ones, I know you dont like hearing the RRP's but it is a $499 RRP monitor.

    • +1

I believe the Dell's are always better for Graphic Design/Photography, but if you don't have the cash for one Samsung is the next best thing.

      • +2

Samsung makes these panels, Dell monitors are assembled by AOC, Dell do not make any panels for any of their monitors.

        • +1

Dell use IPS panels in alot of the higher end Ultrasharp monitors, which is what tchi6 and Grimezy are getting at when they ask whether its any good for graphic design.

TFTCentral reports this as a crappy TN Film panel, so stick to the Dell Ultrasharp for graphic design.

        • +1

IPS panels in LG can be purchased in 23" for around $250.
IPS panels are what graphics desisgners should be using, nothing else.

    • +1

There's nothing wrong with this monitor and decent price. But regarding your question about graphic design, you are better off paying a bit more for a dell ultrasharp if you are doing a lot of graphic design.

  • +1

AUD $199……61% off……i doubt thats true…..this same monitor is being sold for between $200-$300 in the market as its usual price…..AUD $500 is really really expensive…..and misleading as well……below is the link from JBHifi selling the same brand for AUD $266 as the normal price…..that means a discount of 20% and not 60%……I have also seen a few websites selling them for as low as AUD $230.

I agree that the AUD $199 is still cheaper but the discount and the bargain is very misleading.

    http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/computers-laptops/monitors/sa…

    • +8

      misleading?
      click on the Samsung link,
Samsung Australia have the product listed as $499 RRP,
I do not make the prices up.
      look at the top right,
      http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/pc-peripherals/monitor/le…
What do you think Harvey Norman does 40% off on? its off RRP.

    • try telling that to a COTD rep who state a hyper inflated RRP and still don't offer a good deal. We all know this is a bargain anyway so no need to complain.

      • +6

inflating RRP's is another issue, but the RRP is set by the manufacturer, not the retailer, then the price is worked backwards off this. If big retailers in Australia are going to continure to market and advertise 30-40% off RRP, we also must mention what the RRP is, or else our every day low prices get ignored and and we are disadvantaged, technically speaking this would be advertised as 60% off RRP, however unfair or untrue it may sound, this is the reality of Australian retail.
I however am not saying this, just pointing out what the RRP is, as set by Samsung Australia. I would remind everyone what terminology all the big retailers are using currently.
MLN always offers better value than these large retailers, but lately I have noticed a lot of customers saying what percent off is this? if we told our customers the RRP's of every product sold MLN would be quoting 60% off this weekend for example.

        • You are somewhat correct but its a marketing ploy many ozbargainers frown upon. You should know that by now.

        • +4

camelgrass is right, no point quoting the RRP if no one charges that price, its been discussed in a few threads, sellers should provide the discount on your normal everyday selling price…

That said MLN hasnt provided it here, so im pretty happy with what they have provided.

      • camelgrass, I understand, but I am not going to not mention what the RRP is, this would also be wrong.

        • +3

I think for the next sale, the best option for you is to spend an extra 5 minutes to list down the cheapest price online you can find + % off those

          best of both worlds :)

So you dont have to spend > 5 minutes 'discussing' % off RRP

          :D :D :D

          p.s I got one :) thanks!

        • @ MLN. True. But the way the ad is designed it makes it look like you are discounting your selling price by 60% which is not right.

        • +4

          No this is incorrect,
RRP is RRP, and it is not set by me. In fact a few months back this was the sell price anywy.
Static ice is not genuine, half of the stores on static ice never carry any stock, and it is subject to change by the minute. MLN is not affiliated with staticice, if you guys like using staticice as a comparrison, not a problem, please keep doing so, but as a business this is not what MLN follows.
RRP is what RRP is, I do not list them, you guys can quote staticice, there is no way that I can quote price comparrisons on made up data feeders.
This is entirely up to each user.
If Harvey Norman is going to quote 40% off RRP, they also can,
we simply list what the RRP is, not market off it, which I beleive is very fair and reasonable.

        • +2

I didnt say it had to be staticeice or any of the feeds website
          A quick
          JBhifi -
          HN -
          etc -

would easily satisfy most ozbargainers :)

I personally dont look at the RRP anyways, I always compare it with how much pplz who have purchased in the past few months and how much the different stores are selling for

I guess some people are just picky with % off RRP…

        • +1

That's not true. I've seen this monitor selling much lower than rrp even a few months back. And no, not on staticice.

        • +8

Guys, its up to you to pick who you want to compare with, and buy from where you like, its up to me to list the product, and be factual about what I can confirm and know for a fact. You guys need to make your decision on what you think is a bargain, I just have to present the facts, you may then choose to like them or not, which is a matter of opinion.
This monitor has been gradually coming down in price for about 8 months now.
At $199, its the cheapest I have ever seen or heard of it, and I think its a bargain at this price.

        • Thanks MLN, many people on here thing you do a fantasic job… cant wait for some more sub 300 dollar 15"generic laptops (even if they have to have cashback)

    • +8

What did you expect they should say on the site? 20% cheaper than XXX, 30% than XXX , etc etc. ….

  • +2

Damn, no VESA mount points and no height adjustment.

And I was ready to buy as well.

    • +3

Vesa is so 1990, and for height adjustment - just adjust your chair. Simple

      • +2

How about replace your furniture. LOL. Not able to adjust the height is not good for many users I think.

      • +2

You should not adjust the height of your chair simply for the purpose of better monitor viewing! That is a sure-fire way to decrease your health, comfort and posture.

Chair-height adjustment is there for the purpose of improving posture and comfort depending on the size of the user and desk.

If you can't adjust the height of the monitor, you are far better off sticking a phone book underneath the monitor stand to increase height. It's unlikely you would ever need to decrease the height of a non-height-adjustable monitor.

      • Adjust the chair? Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong :P Wouldn't take long before you ruin your posture

As for the height adjustment, it should really be a standard now & not just business related considering how long we sit in front of them. Stacking books underneath doesn't really cut it

  • how this monitor comparing to that dell ST2420L with promo of $159 no long ago?

    • or let me put this way, what's the lowest price you can pay to get a decent 24inch full HD monitor? i'm currently looking for the second monitor, so nothing fancy but still good quality

    • I'd go for this Samsung. I wasn't too impressed by the dell ST models.

      • i understand this might be better, but is it worth $40 extra?

        • I can't say for sure, sorry, I have only used the Dell ST models. They don't have great colour accuracy. Whether the Samsung is any better, I don't know.

  • I was planning to go and get a Samsung BX2440 tomorrow, the price is about the same at CPL, damn now it's hard to make a choice… any comments?

    • Apparently the BX2450 replaces the BX2440, but the 2440 has VESA mounts.

      • BX2440 can also pivot and adjust height, but BX2450 seems to have better image quality in tech spec terms - I haven't seen the real thing…

        • +2

BX2440 is for business users, BX2450 home users, hence BX2450 looking more sexier :)

        • bx2440 and bx2450 are for different purposes, and look completely different

      • BX2440 is better. The BX2450 is definitly not a bargain since MSY have the BX2440 for $195. The RRP of BX2450 is $499 (http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/pc-peripherals/monitor/le…), BX2440 is $579 (http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/pc-peripherals/monitor/bu…). Only special is the delivery really.

        • +1

          @ brenwildman

You can't judge it based on RRP alone ;)

The Staticice average for the 2440 is ~$210 on many sites whereas the BX2450 has an average of around ~$270 - this is a very good deal. And as mentioned both are completely different in terms of its intended purposes. The 2450 is for entertainment (2x HDMI, VGA & analog audio output) & the 2440 is for business (only DVI & VGA ports) but it has an adjustable stand which is what you're also partially paying for

  • Rep, I can't seems to find..does it come with cable? Thx

    • let me check the box

  • Thanks Rep! Just bought myself one :) It's nuts - I was just about to grab this tomorrow for $289 elsewhere. Absolute bargain. Cheers.

    • two HDMI slots, and one VGA slot
      plus Audio out.

It does come with a DVI to HDMI cable, however no HDMI to HDMI is included. Pretty much non of them come with HDMI to HDMI I have been told.

      • Do you guys have any 3d monitors at a bargain price?

  • Just bought myself one… I look forward to receiving mine!

  • around 6cm thick! damn!

  • +7

Beating everyone else's price makes it a bargain. We all ignore RRP's anyhow as it's virtually meaningless.

    • +3

agree, ulitmately this is what makes anything a bargain

  • How fast is delivery to metro melb?
Which courier will you be using?

    • We either use, TNT, AAE or Auspost
I would guess, if paid today, it would clear tommorrow, so will ship tomorrow or Monday, overnight

      • Just ordered but figured picking up from Richmond would be easier. Can stock be reserved before I head down? I've emailed sales about my order.
If I can't make it down tonight, can I pick it up tomorrow even though the sale is over?

        • Same question, I've ordered online, can I pay and pick up from Richmond tomorrow?

        • Guys online orders are for delivery only, if you wish to pick up from a store, please order/pay at the store you wish to buy from.

  • I want to plug my Xbox 360 and my PC into this monitor.

How does it perform with gaming?

  • is it able to deliver after 5pm or on weekend? or I can go pick up at nearby post office?

  • +1

Nice one. Will buy two tonight.
    Good work!!!

  • +1

    Rep,

    Is this an anti-glare monitor?

  • It's so funny that Kogan with ads in ozbargain website claim they can beat harvey norman & Jbhifi.
I went to ask them whether they can beat this samsung 24" LED($199 with delivery)with their similar product 24"($261 including delivery)
And they don't match this deal and ask me to buy this deal. What a shame!

    • that's how Harvey Norman QV told me too!

110% price guaranteed! what a joke!

      • they cannot do 60% off RRP

  • really nice monitor, i would buy this if i had a computer that could use it to its full potential, im still running a 8600gt 512mb from 4 years ago, which reminds me its time to save up for a whole system upgrade:)

  • Would Officeworks beat it by 5%?

    • Yes, if they stocked it which they don't I believe.

  • I have this monitor, I mostly use it for gaming and watching movies/tv and it is excellent, I would highly recommend it for $200 keep in mind though the stand is not adjustable.

  • OMG what a bargain, bought this for 300 about 3 months ago, hope this is the start of many more deals to come!

  • +1

Too bad I bought a BX2440 last year by $258. This one was around $340 last year, too expensive for me. Samsung monitor is the best.

  • Rep,

Is this online only? or instore at this proce too.

    • as advertised both at the top and in the listing on our site, its available online and instore, though we have now just sold out, if you pay for it before 1 pm tommorrow you will get allocation for delivery for online orders or to pick up from the store you puchased from.
We have a huge shipment coming next week to fufill all orders.

      • Did you say it's now sold out? But but I want to buy it =(

  • Kind of a silly question, but does the monitor have inbuilt speakers?

  • Have had this monitor for nearly a year now great monitor.. i would of purchase another 2 for eyefinity but only thing that stops me and stop me back when i got this one was no vesa mounts!!

I cant fit all 3 with the stands on my desk!

  • Got it. Paid by Bpay (credit card). Thanks

  • Realistically this is only 17% off, but a good deal nonetheless.

  • Has anybody used this monitor? What's the colour accuracy, viewing angles and contrast like in reality, not just specs-wise?

  • I would've snapped up this monitor except for the fact it doesn't have VESA mounts, stand only, boo. :-(

  • +1

I just bought a house but I still have spare money for this! :) If the Mrs finds out she's gunna go nuttttts…

  • Payed with BPay, hope I can pick it up soon.

    • online orders are for delivery only.

  • If this was height adjustable I'd be all over it :(

  • I voted + purely because MLN just brought out another "Bargain Of The Day" website!!!!
(in this case this is also a good deal too)

  • +1

    Alright. I bought one.

Who wants to buy my BenQ E2200HD?

    Hehe :D

    • Or my Hercules Prophetview 920? VGA only, "RARE!!!11"

  • +1

Does anyone know the warantee info for this monitor?

  • does anyone know if this monitor can do 85hz at 1024x768
