      • Money, I want you back :( :( :(

For those who want to complain.

Make sure you (from ACCC web site):

    • describe your problem and the outcome you want. Focus on the main details.
    • include key dates, such as when you purchased the goods or services and when the problem occurred
    • identify what action you have already taken to have the problem fixed (such as going back to the shop where you purchased the product or service)
    • attach a copy of any supporting relevant documentation such as a receipt or invoice.
  • So have they all shipped yet?

    • I'm still waiting for them to arrive.

      • Me too. Just an interesting side note. moments after I made this transaction (…what 2 weeks ago?) my bank blocked my internet banking access. When I rang them they explained it looked like a suspicious transaction. Odd but maybe there is more to it.

I placed my order and paied 1st Sept, and got an email from MLN telling me that "You should expect to receive your order latest by 16/09/2011".

But I haven't got any further email advising the shipment until now. So unlikely I can get it this week. Really want my money back and say good bye to MLN forever.

This thread is a good read; much to be learnt. If you look at the the summary - 94+ve 6-ve you would think this is a really good deal yet there are so many pissed off people. The OzBargain rating system should have been overhaul along with the interface. I can't believe MLN would actually resort attack OzBargain members on this thread when they have a problem - retail suicide. Do you really think you are helping them? Calming them? Anyway I told you guys about MSY and now they even have BX2440 for $160 (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/52850). Hopefully the shipping wait isn't too much longer.

Yeah its amazing how a very good deal can end up ruining a stores reputation!

The hyper-defensive stance they have taken has really pissed me off. If they had just been honest to begin with, or even after the fact, I would be a lot happier. The defamation claims are hilarious though - it really shows the maturity of the business. I will certainly not be dealing with MLN ever again after this debacle.

  • +3

Omg this is unacceptable. Half an hour ago i complain on MLN facebook page about how problematic they are and you know what i got booted out from their page and my post on their wall magically disappear!

Gosh i promise you MLN that this would be my last time to deal with you. Yes i talking to you MLN i know that you are reading this right now!

    • They really good when it comes to avoiding problems lol..

  • -7

Gosh what a bunch of impatient people! So there's been a delay and the order did not appear magically at your feet the second you click 'BUY'…. build a bridge and get over it!! So you did not get the monitor in time before your school holidays ended. Guess what? By the time you leave school and join the real world you'll find that the Earth does not revolve around you!!

It's always the small minority who are the most vocal. Well let me say I'm happy with my order and I quite understand there are often circumstances beyond any company's control when it comes to these things. God knows this is minor compared to some of the nonsense that happens in real life. I received shipment notice last night, and my consignment is already in Canberra this morning.

    For goodness sake, CHILL OUT!!!!

    • +5

Seriously? Under what conditions would you be unhappy then, I wonder?

This is a textbook case of an online order going wrong. Uncertain delivery status, close to zero communication besides some snide comments on an OzBargain thread, rep who seems more focused on making excuses and avoiding answering honestly rather than saving what little reputation his employer has left.

Hell, at least offer unhappy customers a refund. It's not gonna be the end of the world. Not every person is willing to wait so long, and there's no reason why an order cant be cancelled at this stage. There's an almost equivalent monitor available at MSY right now for $160, I'd go grab that in a heartbeat assuming I could get a refund for this garbage.

It's not a matter of school kids being upset over not having something 'instantly', but given expectations I think every customer here has right to be ticked off. It's never beyond a company's control to appease customer expectations, in fact it should beone of their highest priorities.

      @SCV

Clown. If it a preorder, it should be stated on the the page when you are going to buy it.
They didnt, and keep saying it is in stock.
If it take 2weeks to delivery instock item, all employees in the company should be sack.
Now they not even letting customer cancel their order.
      That is terrible customer service.

      • +3

From what I've read, this wasn't a due to the stock being on preorder, but rather caused by their normal supply chain being broken. So for what ever reason (eg, Customs delay, transportation disaster, Samsung conspiracy), the 10 000 (random number) or so units they were waiting for didn't come, and they couldn't ship out. Que in multiplier due to more people ordering afterward. The 72 hour dispatch message is obviously automated, and so was unfortunate that they didn't edit it to state there would be some delays.
However, I agree that customers who have already paid, but whose units haven't yet shipped should be allowed to cancel their orders. Additionally, this whole situation could have been better resolved with a bit more communications with buyers. There's rarely anything worse than customers that have been left in the dark.
I'm saying this because MLN have done some good deals here before, with relatively good customer service. This was an error on their part, a rather big one at that, but I'm sure they want this situation resolved as soon as their customers.

    • Hey SCV, what if you go to the hospital and the doctor there said you need to wait for 2 weeks to get serve. Would you able to say CHILL OUT!! Use common sense mate.

    • +2

Yours in Canberra, and I am in Victoria but I had not receive a damn notice yet ! Are you sure you are not working for MLN ?

  • +1

It doesn't matter the items are in stock or not. The fact is that we've been waiting for 2 weeks, and got nothing!! And MLN still keep breaking their promise.(72hours?16/9/2011? what's next one?) So just give us money back ASAP!!!

  • it seems it is better to buy stuff these days from eBay rather than online store of brick and mortar shop. At least we have buyer protection there, not to mention cheaper price most of the time. And yet, the brick and mortar shop keeps complaining their business ruined by eBay.

Does anyone have solution to this ? Feels like getting my money back, really but I don't think MLN will give refund :(

  • Has anyone tried doing a chargeback with their credit card? I'm sure that's one option. I paid with Paypal unfortunately…

    • If you paid with Paypal, you can open a dispute on Paypal, cant you ?

  • I haven't received a shipping email yet and going by their last email to me my order should be delivered by 15/09 at the latest. What time did others receive their shipping emails.

    • mine says on 15/09 the latest too

      • mine was on monday. They said if I still did not get the shipping email by today I should contact them.

    • I contacted them via email and they got back to me saying my order had shipped this afternoon with TNT overnight express (insured) and gave me a tracking number. First time I've ordered anything from MLN and it hasn't been the best experience.

Ordered 1/09 Thursday afternoon. Payment cleared Sunday Morning. Contacted them Tuesday arvo 06/09 to see how my order was going. Didn't receive a response within 24 hours (as quoted) so emailed them again early Thursday arvo 8/9. Got a response to my first email Thursday arvo saying my order was going to ship Friday 9/9 or Monday 12/09 at the latest. Got a response to my second email that evening apologizing for the delay and saying they expect all orders to ship by Monday at the latest. On Friday morning I get an automated email advising that I should expect my order by 15/09. Then come late Wednesday afternoon 14/9 I still hadn't received an email with tracking details. So I had to contact them again and as I said before they responded saying my order had shipped (finally).

So it's going to take 9 business days from when the payment was cleared to get an item delivered. I think this is unacceptable given there was no indication at the time of purchasing that it was going to take this long. While automated emails advising of delays are appreciated, more timely and detailed emails would be more fitting. I can only hope the supposed website upgrade will address these communication issues. My order for example, is still showing "Delivery Date Update".

I'll think twice before buying from them again.

LOL! Would take a lot more than this to upset me :)

Am also highly amused at my "common sense mate" comparing a hospital admission to a monitor order. That cracked me up so much and really made my day.

Well, I've received mine this morning. I'd listed my company address for delivery and got a call from the receptionist at 10.15am to let me know I had a package arrive by courier. Have set it up and she's a beauty! My laptop's hooked up on HDMI1 and the XBOX is on HDMI2. Love the price at $199 and wish I'd gotten two instead.

Definitely conditions under which I would be happy!

    And no I don't work for MLN… have a great job at a Big4 firm instead :)

    • +2

lol, you just joined 12 hours ago as ozbargain member. I can see your patience and show off attitude for being accountant. thumbs up ! But yet, you are not helping here. Well, enjoy your monitor mate !

    • I will only come to check this page if I haven't received my monitor.

      • Have you received your monitor?

        • No.And no shipping email.

  • Right so I emailed them threatening them I was going to do a credit card charge back…and guess what? It got shipped right away!!

  • +1

Guys, I finally received the shipping email this morning. It was from TNTexpress and the email mentioned it will be delivered this afternoon. Does MLN want to give us surprise by keeping quiet in the last few days ? It feels like Christmas comes early :)

Hope you all receive yours today !

    • I just received the shipping email as well, same delivered time as yours. Anyway, after two weeks can finally get it.
Hope you enjoy your monitor as well!

  • +5

i received the monitor today, finally. works perfectly, no complaints with the product itself but i won't be buying from MLN again.

    • Received it on 15 Sep. The product itself is very good and I am happy about it, but as others above said I won't use MLN as they are on my blacklist. Yes, OZBargain need to review its review system based on the merchant business practice.
Speaking of business practice, does anyone know the Business practice review site for north America www.bbb.org/ ? Australia should have same information site for consumer protection. I found it very useful to identify merchant business reputation upon shopping.

For MLN, I did sent an email saying if it's not arriving on their latest promised date, I won't take any excuse of further delay. The reply from MLN staff (not sure if sales guy) was apologetic, which was a bit of surprise.

For those who don't receive this monitor by their promised date,
just file a charge back via Credit Card or/and paypal with all purchase histories and records.

  • Just wondering what you guys think would of been an acceptable timeframe for them to deliver the monitor?

I reckon MLN did have some in stock but no where what they had sold. It was only 2 weeks, to me that isn't such a big deal. I usually wait a week when I buy from online stores, but then again I am in WA.

    • For me, I am just disappointed that they didn't manage to keep their promises twice. First 72 hours, then latest by 15/9. Till now, I still haven't get mine.

And they don't allow refund claiming that the item has been shipped. But when requested for the tracking code, they couldn't give me one. And I got one this morning saying that it was just being shipped.

Most important of all, I don't reckon they feel sorry for all this delay. In all their communication, not a single "Sorry" word that I can see.

    • I ordered 18 days ago and still have yet to recieve my monitor (though it'll apparently arrive today, according to the courier)
That is really not acceptable for a product that is 'In stock'. I would expect at most maybe 2-3 days for processing and another 2 days for shipping.
If I had known it would take so long I would not have bought this deal, it's that simple.

  • Still waiting on my monitors. Sent an angry email to find out what was going on, recieved a shipping invoice as a reply - no apology or explanation at all.

Will NOT be buying from these jokers again.

  • Received the monitor yesterday but I find it way too bright. Does anyone have an ideal setting? I tried playing around with the setting but still can't find one that I like.
