  • would this monitor be able to link to my existing monitor benqe2200hd so that I can use the 2 screen at the same time?

  • +1

I got a Kogan voucher yesterday, and wonder what you guys will choose for the following choices:
    1. Samsung BX2450 for $199 (from this post) OR
    2. Kogan 24" Full HD LED for $163.50 (after rebate with voucher)

Which performance is better and have better value? Please help me to figure this out.

    • I prefer Samsung to the Kogan brand. I've got a Kogan bluray player and the quality including both the remote sensor & build quality is just 'ok' (not really happy with the product either) whereas Samsung usually have a professional approach to everything

  • I just wonder why Samsung BX2450 isn't longer available to sell at US? i couldn't get any price reference for that and the product seem deactivated.

  • Rep,
Just want to confirm, if the monitor has 3 years warranty.

See at bottom of the page.
    http://www.samsung.com/au/support/warranty/warrantyInformati…

  • how long for it to get delivered to nsw?

also it is 3 years warranty?
and samsung picks up from sydney??

or we need to send it back to you?

    • I'd likw to know too, wty is a biggie

    • Samsung has service agents all across Australia, depending on your location, the Samsung will either pick ot up from you, or direct you to your local repair agent.
It will not need to come back to us.

  • It will be 3 years warranty return to Samsung if its not DOA (within 7 days).
That's the typical monitor warranty spiel.

    • Hi,
      yes this is correct.

    • Thats a 5 millisecond screen, no comparrison

      • Rep,
        No comparrison, agreed.
        Is this an anti-glare monitor?

        • I doubt that.

  • Just bought one

  • bought one, have been eyeing this monitor for more than a year…
but it seems that samsung has discontinued this product, is this true Rep? and if it is, whats the replacement?

  • So when are these being shipped? Mine still says payment cleared.

    • Guys they are being processed, we have sold a huge quantity and the guys are working through it

      • Can you give us a time frame? Today, tomorrow? When?
        Thanks.

  • +2

My payment cleared but no shipping yet?

  • catchoftheday selling the same monitor for $189.95 + shipping

    • -1

can you provide the link? the monitor I saw was not as good as this one

      • +3

My payment is cleared on Sunday and your email mentioned within 72 business hours. I don't think you will be able to send that email in next hour.

Please try to be "under promise and over deliver" rather than vice versa.

There are few other company (mwave and centrecom) selling almost the same price and yours is no longer bargain just in few days. What a shame.

  • +6

payment cleared already but shipping take ages..so disappointed with the service.

    • +6

yeah i was told that MLN is yet to receive the monitors coz it's a pre-order. have to wait till next week to receive it :(

I'm sick of these pre-order crap! takes forever to come in and they're making a riskless profit.

      • +6

oh really.so whats the point in sending us the information that the shipping usually takes 72 hours after the confirmation. This is utterly crap. Should tell us that it was a pre-order beforehand. =(

        • So MLN rep when can we get an "accurate" time for delivery then?

      • +1

Are we allowed to get refund ? The waiting is killing me ! I am playing my PS3 on my old 22 inch LCD monitor at the moment :(

        • +4

I have contacted with MLN, they refuse to cancel my Samsung order and refund me, even it hasn't been shipped out yet. I wanna buy U2412M, or buy Samsung from other shop,I don't want wait for ages! Their customer service is really bad.

      • +2

I'll wait this time but there will never be another order to MLN from me again! This has been handled in a misleading and marginally deceptive manner and they will pay the price in future orders.

    • +1

It seems to be the same complaint that arises from time to time regarding delayed shipping from MLN.

  • +3

Screw you MLN! You said nothing of this being preorder! Also misleading ship times

    • They ruined my spring breaks!!! =(

  • +5

have they ever had a stock of this item in the first place? Why this is a 'pre-order' now?

I didn't buy the pre-order item as I was led to believe this was stocked item at the time of the sale.

If merchant sells advertising goods which were not in stock in the first place, it's considered deceptive practice and they will be fined.

    http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2011/06/harvey-norman-franchise…

    Also this ACCC pages describes consumer statutory rights includes;
'You must receive clear title to the goods, including goods bought at auction. In other words, you can expect to own the goods outright and any restriction on ownership should be explained to you beforehand.'

    http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/815360

This means I can even demand cancellation of this order as at least I was led to believe I was buying a stocked sales item but turned out that merchant was hiding this item was not indeed in stock.

Whoever not happy about this merchant treatment should demand a cancellation of contract - and refund.

If staff is not helpful, I would take further action against this deceptive practice - maybe file a dispute to credit card company to cancel the transaction?

    To MLN staff
You need to take an immediate action to solve this problem before it's getting worse.

    • Has anyone had any luck cancelling their order :/

  • +2

Thanks zenzen for pointing that out. I'm still disapointed with the same excuses from MLN staff each time I emailed then. I wont buy from you next time MLN.

  • +3

Has anyone called them to find out what the hell is going on? I paid for the item nearly a week ago now and received payment confirmation on Sunday. To not hear anything back now is pretty poor.

    • you can't call them because the online store is considered separate from their physical stores. can only email.

  • +2

I believe the way they advertised this monitor is misleading/deceptive according to ACCC definition.

    http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/815335#h2_…

'Examples of misleading or deceptive conduct:
failing to include in advertisements that sale stock is limited in number or available only for a limited time.'

They took orders more than they have in stock obviously (or no stock at all indeed).

I think we need to report it to ACCC or governing authority.
    Shame on you MLN!

    • -4

      Zenzen
I think you are going a bit far,
we sold what we had, we could get more, so we sold more, and more is coming/arrived.

      • Can I get refund? If I put an order on Dell now, I'm pretty sure I will receive dell u2412 first.

  • +1

I just received an email saying my order is due to be shipped tomorrow or Monday at the latest. They're meant to ship it within 72 hours of payment clearance according to an earlier email which means it should've shipped yesterday. Disappointed.

    • +3

someone already received their dell u2412. I feel so regretful.

    • -2

      Hi,
We are working on getting everyones order out

  • +1

They really ruined my spring break!! No point in getting the monitor next week when class already started.

  • -4

Guys we had hundreds in stock, they sold out, we ordered more for customers who bought more, we have several shipments coming.

    • +1

Thanks for letting us know mate. But in future you should probably give the customer a little more accurate time frame for delivery post order. As when we have got the payment confirmation email, it tells us 72 hours before postage is made, so maybe be a little clearer.

      • 2 Dollars
for sure, your feedback is noted. We are processing all orders as fast as possible

    • +1

You should put a limit there, when you are out of stock, you should state Sold out, other than keeping selling something you don't hold. If you received billions of orders on that day, are you still going to sell them, even don't consider how many Samsung can produce and How Long it takes to ship out?

    • your online system should prevent customer from buying if you only have certain limited stock.

Or you can just tell when you post this so called "bargain" that you only have limited stock. 100 in quantity is not much if you want to do business.

Something is wrong with your logistic, MLN.

      Being greedy gets us nowhere.

  • MLN said last year that they were planning a million-dollar upgrade to their electronic systems for 2011 for better systems/inventory/website/ordering management. It seems that hasn't occurred or it was a dud promise.

Have a look at previous comments by the MLN rep and the negative feedback for the particular sale regarding poor inventory, stock and ordering management.
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36766#comment-343792

It was Centrecom that previously had a bad rep on OzB, now the tables have turned within only a few months.

    • -2

      Thanks Camelgrass,
yes we are doing this upgrade, and we are in the middle of it.

      • 8+ months on and still using that excuse. Would be easier for you guys to do what you say/represent rather then the time making outdated excuses.

        • +1

          ATD,
I do not think its that simple and roll outs take a lot longer than a few weeks for proper ERP systems

        • MLN that is the problem. You DO NOT THINK!

  • +1

Yes we all know that but at least send us an email that state the time frame of the delivery. Not just silence and make us keep waiting blindly. I still yet to receive your email about the shipping information.

    • -1

      Hi,
its all automated, as each product is shipped an email is sent with it.
There are thousands of orders being processed, and people are being emailed.

      • +3

Looks like you've shot yourselves in the foot, MLN.
This lack of communication from your store is VERY unprofessional. If you had simply been upfront with stating that the monitors were not actually in stock, and would take at least 2 weeks to arrive, you would not have so many unhappy customers.
With this misrepresentation, you basically bought yourselves some extra sales on this one deal at the expense of future sales at your store.

I'm clearly not the only one who bought this item and is unhappy with the delivery timeframe, and the way it's been handled. Poor effort.

        • guys you have all been communicated too,
they are being processed and sent, There are thousands of orders being processed at the moment, I understand you all expected them to arrive two days ago, they will arrive all early next week.

  • +5

Same story here. Payment processed 5 days ago and nothing since. What's the summary:

    • false and deceptive advertising
    • misleading emails
    • no easy way to contact the seller
    • no way to cancel the order

Will you deal with MLN again? I won't.

    • Just had an email to say another week before dispatch (possibly I guess) - what a joke and never again will I pay for something before stock and delivery date are confirmed. MLN fail!

    • These guys just don't care once they get your money - total bunch of w@nkers. I purchased something from them a short while ago and what a pain in the butt that became with 1 day+ cryptic email replies not addressing my points. Will NEVER buy anything off them again regardless of the price as they don't deliver what they say.

  • So the shipping will be next week or the week after?

    • -4

they have been shipping all week, Ozbargain is not the only customers.

      • MLN are not the only suppliers either so please remember that for future postings!

        • -3

Yes, we realise this, I am just pointing out that there are thousands of customers waiting for their orders, and it is not because stock is not available that ozbargain customers have not received their orders.

  • +1

I just had an email to say that I should expect to receive my order by the 16/09/2011. Pretty poor considering that would make it 2 weeks since I paid, for an item which was "supposedly" in stock as well…

    • I got the email as well, I don't believe it's in stock.

      • -3

It is in stock, they are being processed.

  • +2

Poor customer service at MLN and if I ran my business like these guys well.. I wouldn't be in business.. I purchased the item under the belief it was in stock and would be delivered on time. MLN you don't even need to code up a fancy new admin panel for your website. A simple one liner on the product description stating that some orders may take up to two weeks to get delivered would have sufficed.

MLN you don't even deserve to stay in business because it is obvious YOU don't care about your customers! Why are you more than happy to just say "No refund! No refund! No Refund!." Just shameful… Everyone here who wants to cancel their order has a legit reason. You have our money and we have nothing.

    • +1

      You got a good point!

    • -3

Guys, of course we care about you guys, our customers are the most important thing, most orders have been processed as of Friday, we are working on processing all of your orders.
      These units were in stock,
When for example we order 5000 units of a product, it does not get delivered in one day, it may for example get delivered over a period of 2 weeks in 4 shipments, our second and third deliveries were delayed, and this is the cause for delay.
Once a huge amount of stock is delayed for 3 days, all orders pile up, then 2 delivered arrive at once, in stead of for example on Monday and Thursday it will all come on Thursday, and we are required to process one weeks work in 1 day, this is the cause of the delay.

      • +4

Whatever.. communicate your stock availability correctly on your website. It only takes 1 min to update a product description. Why you don't just say "May take up to two weeks for delivery" is beyond me… oh wait I know why. Because people would not have bought the monitors! Misleading… I know I wouldn't have made my purchase on that Friday.

        • -1

I repeat, stock is available, it has always been available, they are being processed.
I understand you guys all angry it didnt get to you in time, there has been a delay in processing orders of up to 3 days for some customers.

  • Will most orders be sent off by Monday?

    • -1

half of all orders have already been processed, the remainder is going out on Monday and some will go on Tuesday

      • Seeing as the remainder should have gone out today at the very latest, when should we expect a consignment number?

  • +2

The problem MLN, is you never said sorry. Instead you keep coming up with excuses for the delay. Why not coming up with suggestions on how you can improve your services?

  • +1

I've finally received an email stating I'll get the monitor on Thursday, 14 days after placing an order for an item that's in stock.

MLN - a tip for the future. If you have 5,000 units in stock, and another 15,000 being shipped 2-3 weeks away, you don't advertise 20,000 units in stock. Ensure proper communication and warn customers of potential delays, and problem could've been mitigated.

Clearly all you care about is "take money first, deal with problems later". Maybe I should've taken my money elsewhere.

    • -3

      Vicerum
I agree with you, and this is not what happened.

  • +1

    Not buying from MLN again!

  • +4

    vicerum's point is very clear.

MNL - Be warned. You can only take an order as stocked item on sale.
If you take orders more than you actually in stock (doesn't matter if you believe you can get stock later), the item must be presented and sold with clear indication of delivery time as pre-order because all customers expect immediate delivery as it was advertised as stocked item.
Your business practice is against the Australian regulation.

The practice you are doing your business is called misleading / deceptive.
That's why you have this amount of complaints from customers who bought your product.

Listen to all complaints of your customers and think why we are not satisfied.
Learn a lesson from this or you will be penalised.

If you are not changing this misleading business conduct immediately,
I am ready to file a complain of this case to the following Consumer Affairs Victoria.

    http://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/CA256EB5000644CE/page/About+u…

    • -2

Is what you're saying actually law or are you just making it up?

'If you take orders more than you actually in stock (doesn't matter if you believe you can get stock later), the item must be presented and sold with clear indication of delivery time'

Says whom? There is no law that prevents selling products you do not yet possess as long as you can provide it to the customer.

And also, s 36(2) of the Goods Act says:

Where under the contract of sale the seller is bound to send the goods to
the buyer, but no time for sending them is fixed, the seller is bound to send
      them within a reasonable time.

      • +4

ACCC confirmed it with me when I called them on Friday under section 18 of the Trade Practices Act.

        Misleading/deceptive as per zenzen's post.

Example - If I knew it would take two weeks for the item to be sent out I would NOT have purchased the item. This information was not given to me ahead of time and as such the sale was misleading. They now refuse to give me a refund.

        • Fair enough. I did have a look at that (it's actually s 18 of the ACL or s 52 of the Trade Practices Act) but didn't think it amounted to misleading conduct since 2 weeks isn't considered an 'unreasonable' amount of time. Are you seeking any action then?

        • -5

Third Gear, your misinformed and you are making false accusations against our company, I would also like to point out to you that making false accusations is called defamtion, this is what you are doing right now.
While you are all welcome to make any complaints you wish to any government department you wish, accusing a company of misleading advertising and false advertising when it is not, is called defamation. I would ensure you were sure before doing such a thing as you are a trading entity yourself.
Since the accusation you are making publically are incorrect, this is what you are doing, defamation.
If the ACCC were to contact MLN (I fail to see why they would) they would see that the produdcts were ordered and delivered before the advertised date.
It has taken a little longer for delivery becuase of delivery delays and unexpected work load, not becuase of deceptive advertising or misleading sales tactics.

        • +2

          more spin by MLN…lol…nice try

    • -1

      Thanks for the warning,
      once again,
      stock was in stock,
and stock was on order for regular delivery,
      this delivery was delayed,
      this was not a pre-sale.

If a company pre-orders stock that was never available then yes this is misleading.

It is not misleading to advertise stock that is being sent from the warehouse or being moved around.
      It is still our inventory.

      • Yeah that's what I thought too (even under the ACL).

    • Zenzen,
I understand a lot of people here want to give free legal advice.
I assure you, we are aware of consumer laws.
Your statements are false and incorrect.

  • Counting days for my monitor to arrive. So frustrated. =(

  • +4

Received an email on Thursday last week confirming all orders are expected to be shipped by Monday at the latest.

Its late on Monday and I am yet to receive any confirmation that it's sent. This is getting pretty stupid now considering I ordered minutes after this deal was posted and paid an hour or so later. If you guys all of these monitors in stock at the time of advertising I fail to see how it's taken over 11 days to post the item.

Has anyone at all received their monitor??

    • +1

Yeah, I got the same email as you last week. Now, I'm sick of waiting for the monitor to arrive. I don't think anyone has yet to receive the monitor. I'm sure gonna put MLN on my blacklist after this.

  • Jesus christ 2 weeks to deliver in stock item.
I'm not fussed but it obvious you only have some stock and the rest was preorder.

  • +3

Was promised the monitor to be shipped on Monday. It's Tuesday and still nothing happened.

Hey MLN! If you don't want to lose whatever of your credibility has left let your customers cancel their orders and get their money back.

  • +2

    i want my money back :( :( :(
