Surfers Paradise/Cavill Avenue Dining and Entertainment Freebies and/or Heavy Discounts?

Hi Ozbargainers!

We're staying at the Chevron Renaissance from 12-16 March (so tomorrow onwards). Our group consists of three adults, three 16 year olds and an 8 year old. There are a few things I know the younger ones would like to do, such as putt putt, bowling, arcade, Infinity, Pancake Manor, Hard Rock Cafe etc and I've been googling the various coupon and tourist websites, trying to find the best deals, biggest discounts, etc to make things as affordable as possible so we can fit more in than we could if we were paying full price everywhere we want to go.

I'm particularly looking for BOGO, 2-4-1 offers as this seems to be about as good as I will find on sites like Scoopon, Groupon, Cudo, etc but if anyone knows of any freebies or deeper discounts, that would obviously be even better. Likewise, if you know of any teenager friendly free or low cost activities in Surfers Paradise, particularly around Cavill Avenue, I'd be very appreciative to hear them. The beach will obviously be on the cards at some point but as the trip is for my daughter's 16th birthday, I want to surprise her by fitting in as many different things as possible as she has never stayed at Surfers Paradise before so will not have been to any of the attractions or dining experiences there.

We won't be going anywhere near the theme parks and would prefer to stay within walking/light rail distance of the hotel.

Any hints, tips or suggestions from fellow frugals will be very much appreciated :)

  • Buy the Entertainment Book (app)?

    Hard Rock Cafe - B1G1F

    $54.99 for a year

  • You'll be hard pressed to find freebies due to the location. It's a tourist driven area. There are quite a few places that do cheap meals certain days of the week.

    Longboards
    Waxys
    Clock hotel

    To name a few.

As far as entertainment goes Tallebudgera Creek is my favourite spot on the goldie. Beautiful place to spend a day swimming.

Yep, all the best places on the goldy are not near surfers. I avoid the place like the plague.

  • Check out firsttable https://www.firsttable.com.au/

You pay $5 on the first time and you book a restaurant. Your food is then 50% off. Plenty of restaurants in the gold coast

  • 3 16 year olds and an 8 year old and your not going to a theme park?
Also you only toying with the idea of a beach visit… leave Cavil at the very least jeeze.
