Cheapest Way to Add Android Mic, Volume and Trackskip to 3.5mm Headphones?

Hello! I have some nothing special but good enough overear headphones but the 3.5mm plug at the headphone end has died. My entire life on android i've found once you lose the bundled headphones, you can kiss track skip and / or volume control goodbye because most are made for iPhone.

I've trid stripping the wires and fixing a new end but they don't make em like they used to, they don't have plastic sheaths anymore, some super slippery clear coating right on the copper or something, can't get solder to stick either.

I just want a cable with the inline mic and the three buttons working as they do with the default headphones.

I see alot marketed on ebay for "Sennheiser Momentum", it seems so specific… I recall my friends Bose QC### cable either didn't fit (2.5mm) or the controls didn't work with my headphones when i tried it.

I'm using a ZTE Axon 7 (still). The specific cable that came originally with my Logitech UE-6000 headphones has 4 pins at each end; presumedly for the active noise cancellation but I don't care about that.

Thanks if anyone knows of a sure fire and preferably cheap solution.

Or a Bluetooth Trackskip /Vol control would be pretty dope.
