RRP $129. I have two of the larger units and they are great.

The Vornado 533 compact Air Circulator uses signature Vortex Action to move air up to 21.5m², providing whole room air circulation. The energy efficient technology evens the room temperature, by eliminating hot and cold spots. Despite it’s small size, the 533 is more powerful than a 45cm commercial fan. Its compact size makes it ideal for use in an office, children's bedroom, study or cubical.

The Vornado 533 comes with three speed settings to adjust airflow from whisper quiet to a powerful high setting for quick room circulation, multi-directional airflow and a 5 Year Replacement Warranty. Maintaining the 533 is simple with a detachable grill that provides easy access to the blades for cleaning.

Unlike typical fans, a Vornado creates whole room circulation using an airflow phenomenon called “Vortex Action.” An inlet guide cone directs air to the most efficient portion of the blades. In turn, the wide, heavily contoured blades churn the air into motion. The air then travels through a duct which sculpts the air into a column shape. As the air exits the Air Circulator, Vornado’s AirTensity™ Grill straightens the airflow to ensure the air travels long distances. The airflow column will spin and twirl to the opposite corner hitting the wall where it will split of and recirculate to the centre of the room.

    Lol @ the marketing spin.

Same price as in kogan + delivery

Can vouch that these fans are really good for moving air. Best to have if u have aircon, it circulates cool air faster

    • +2

Worth the extra for the DC version, continuous adjustment of fan speed and there is no power brick.
Awesome performance I have to say.
Akwats had $20 cheapy pedestal fans before the vornado, will never go back.

  • Dang! Decent price!
Waiting for the 633DC so I can use a smart plug!

    Love my 630!

  • DC version is awesome. This version is still worth the money
5 year warranty requires it is returned to place of purchase, might be a hassle with Amazon.

    • +1

What's the difference between this and the DC version?

      • That one runs on AC motors

      • +2

DC has speed controller, and no electronic on/off switch.
Can be used with smart plug.
        Heaps less power
Think DC moves less air, but would need to check side by side.
        DC is v. quiet

        • Are you saying you can’t use this with a smart plug?

          • +1

@dammit: The AC has electronic power switching. So even if the power is turned on , you are still required to turn it on via the electronic switch.
The DC has solid state switch which works with a smart plug/adapter

    • Ought to put this AC/DC thing in the title, if it makes such a big difference.

  • Yeah these units are fantastic for the price, as the other comment above suggests - use in conjunction with air-conditioning? it's shines.

It may struggle with a large lounge but for those in smaller homes, this would be a good addition for the price/purpose.

  • How noisy is this unit? Need to circulate aircon from living room to bedroom at night time. My fan tower sounds like a machine gun.

    • +1

It doesn’t have to go flat out so quiet. The DC version of course is quieter, but more expensive.
Basically you point at a wall and it bounces the air about the room.

    • +1

You want the DC version if you're planning on using it in the bedroom at night time.

      • +1

As he said "from living room To bedroom", it would have to be positioned at the end of the living room, then pushing it

To the bedroom. So even this AC version not on Max Speed might work fine as mentioned above by "entroysbane".

Have this fan, it's super impressive for its size

    • That's what she said

  • I currently use aircon together with ceiling fan in the bedroom at night. Will this give me much benefit or improvement over that? I don't really understand the use case.

    • If aircon and ceiling fan in the same room isn't doing the trick I don't know how much this will help

      • Thanks. Current setup of aircon/ceiling fan is fine. The ceiling fan just allows me to run the aircon at a higher temp (24-25) to reduce electricity usage.

But people on here are saying this fan is great to use with aircon. Maybe if you don't have a ceiling fan?

        • +2

I believe they are saying that it is helpful where you have an AC unit in a different room and need to transfer the cold air to e.g. a bedroom.

Can someone please explain to me how to use these fans? As someone who has only used swinging fan heads, I haven't been able to wrap my head around a fixed, low to the floor Vornado fan.
    1. Do you use it to point to the ceiling? Point it to the wall? Point it to whoever sweating the most in the family?
    2. Is this something you would use for a small gathering of friends? Can you hope to cool down a bunch of sweaty kids?
    3. Will this fan just pick up pet hair and sprinkle it everywhere?
    4. How large a room should be for each size of these fans?
    Thank you so much.

Ignore “Air Circulator” hype. It’s an overpriced small fan. $25 pedestal fan from Bunnings and move on.

      • +1

If you want to go that route, you get a HUGE improvement going to a 45/50cm fan, rather than 35/40cm thats common.

That extra little bit in blade size is genuinely amazing.
